Yes my hair is natural, just don't fucking touch it.

No, mummy didn't dye or perm my hair. I'm 2 and she isn't insane.

If you fluff my hair and I hit you, don't expect sympathy.

I bite. Now fuck off.

(Pics on profile to explain. This has been going on since she was born. Some ditzy bint 'fluffed' her hair earlier in Tesco, without checking with me, without asking her, just grabbed at her, and DD2 smacked her hand away. She then got uppity with me 'having a violent child')

So AIBU?

YANBU although slightly more tactful wording might be good .

I used to have a badge that said 'Yes, I know I've got rosy cheeks'. I was about 3 and soooo sick of people commenting on it.

YANBU.
I hate how people treat children as public property.

Your DDs hair is fantastic though!
But no excuse!

YABU

That hair is just begging to be ruffled.

Absolutely not! I love your daughters hair, it looks amazing.

But just because she is small doesn't mean people can just touch her! I don;t walk up to grown-ups to touch them either just because they have a different hair style. (Usually at least )

No YADNBU - she looks gorgeous, but why would anyone think its acceptable to fluff her hair, when they don't know her

Your DDs hair is not only cool, your Fender doll is amazing.

YANBU.

I am she thought it was OK to touch your toddler without asking you! If this happened to me I would have smacked her, just as well your DD got in there first. The bloody cheek of the woman! My DD has lovely red hair (fine and sparse yet, sob!) that is often commented on but if anyone touched her I would be fuming. She is a person not a doll.

Although to be fair your DD2 does have a lovely mane of hair, perhaps the ditzy bint became mesmerized by the shiny shiny

YABU .I would be tempted to ruffle it [mad old bat]

Jamieandhismagictorch · 16/04/2010 20:14

she is very cute.

Very sorry to anyone out there whose child's hair I have ruffled (or merely touched). I am a bit of a ruffler. Any old hair will do. Will stop it now.

She has beautiful hair - but YANBU (and neither is she!)not to want people poking at her.

I could have done with one for DS which said 'yes I have red hair and my parents don't - it happens sometimes. Please don't ask my old man again if he's sure he's the dad nudge nudge.'

I truly don't mind if people say something and then ask. It tends to go
OMG her hair is awesome
Yes I know
Is it natural? Did you perm it?
Um, no, that's how it comes.
Oh wow, can I touch it?
Well, okay but she doesn't like it much

It's people that grab at it with no warning, what 2 yr old is going to stand for that?
Oh, and the wake of mutterings we leave are highly irritating

Amazing hair
I get this with both of mine. I always get asked if their eyelashes are real as they're so long. I just want to say, no I glue them on, just to see what reaction I get

So more tactful phrases needed then?
Do you think the swearing was abit much?

Having admitted to ruffling, I am not so much of a twat that I would assume a child's hair was permed.

At least people are trying to be complimentary

YABU, why go through life being indignant. I love it when people talk to and are kind to my dc. I still get asked my dd1 has highlighted hair - I just say, isn't it beautiful, you'd think so, but no. and laugh.

I would be tempted to fluff but would think better of it.

Please please please tell me you are making bender dolls to sell on ebay. Dh loves Bender - one of those would be great for his birthday!

KurriKurri- if you are thinking of marketing those tshirts, I could use one for dd !

I think you are missing the point Debi, I don't mind people commenting on it, far from it.
I DO mind complete strangers grabbing at a small child's head with no warning (and then bitching when the small child takes exception and smacks their hand away.)

It is also a bit of a show off as I found out today that some of the girls in DD1's school are taking the piss out of her and saying she looks stupid

That Bender doll took aaaaaaaaaaaaaaages and I couldn't sell any as it's not my pattern, but you can have a go

I can't keep my hands off it either
