AIBU?

What would you rhink if a strange woman asked to take YOUR photo

My hair is a disaster and I need a hair cut/restyle.

I have bought "Wanky Hairstyle" magazine, plus "Celebrity Hairstyle" magazine plus "Despair-if-you-are-over-30 Hairstyle" magazine, and in desperation "Nothing Symmetrical" Hairstyle Magazine.

Needless to say I have found nothing very useful.

I was out shopping today in a certain trendy shopping centre.

I saw loads of women with hairstyles I really liked.

I had a camera with me.

Yet I could not pluck up the courage to approach one and say "Excuse me, sorry to interrupt. I am getting my hair cut this week - look at the state of my hair, look at it! - and I really love your hairstyle. Would you mind if I took a photo of you to show my hairdresser? I am not a perv I promise."

What would you say if someone said that to you? Would you call the security guards? Or be flattered?

Is academic question as I didn't have courage to ask .

I wouldn't mind at all but there is no way anyone would want to take a picture of my hair.

Well, so long as you say "I am not a perv I promise."
I'd know that you're obviously not a perv, and would be fine about it.

Not

I'd feel flattered! I wouldn't let anyone take my picture though, I'm practically phobic of the lens side of cameras
It's a good idea, YANBU.

Can you describe the cut you liked? Maybe someone will be able to suggest what it's called or what to ask for.

I can't imagine anyone would mind

but ditto mememe, noone would aspire to mine! I even had it cut recently but let them put layers in it again. Grr. Don't have layers! They are evil.

I wouldn't mind. Though I'd feel a bit embarassed (but then chuffed that I had good hair!)

Privet, it's growing the buggers out that has made me look 75!

Can't wait to get them back in again!

I wouldn't mind but you wouldn't want to take a picture of my hair anyway.

If you asked me, I would:

a) look around for the candid cameras.
b) have you euthanised for your own good.

I'd be flattered, but you wouldn't be asking me. My style is 'hasn't been cut in months apart from baby pulling it out and chewing on it'.

This actually sounds like something I would do. But I get away with weird stuff due to being a yank

I'd laugh like a maniac and be sure that she was using the photo of my hair to make sure her hairdresser wasn't going to cut her hair like that.

I wouldn't mind at all, I'd be flattered.

But I cut my own hair the MN way and so you'd never ask me
Tell us what style you want and we can google to see if we can find you a pic...

this happened to a friend of mine on a train, a woman came over and asked if she could take a photo of her hair...she said yes and was chuffed to bits!

I wouldn't mind, but then I've had random women stop me before to take pictures of my tiny feet. One stopped me as I was crossing a busy road!

Really, Kaloki? What size are they? We need them on your profile, I think, these street-stopping feet

would be flattered

Size 2-3 (technically 2, but seeing as no one stocks them I wear 3's)

And I was usually wearing 6 inch stillettos when I got stopped, so they looked even smaller.

was on holiday in the med taking a day cruise when loads of teenage tourists started taking my photo but all a bit sneakily - it was a while before I realised all the whispering and nudging and camera phones going off was aimed at me. I was rather worried and a bit put out by it. One brave soul came over and asked for a close up - turns out they thought i was Courtney Cox -

So If someone asked me directly, I would be ok with it.

Gaaah, I should have done it then!

They all had short, obviously recent, hair cuts they took care of so they would have known I wasn't taking the piss. And they might have been flattered. Knackers.

It's a sort of short, flicky style that "good for their age" 45-55 year old women often have. I am 45 and not good for my age - and I have decided that trying to grow my hair is pulling my face down and making things worse.

My hairdresser is lovely but I am no good at explaining things. I also suspect that she knows certain cuts would do my ugly mug no favours and adapts them discreetly so that I never get quite what I ask for.

say you are starting a style blog focusing on hair, and you'd love their picture for it!

Why try to find another way to say something, when someone else has said it perfectly!! Thanks Sawney.

You'd of made my day, I would have let you take my photo & then bought you a coffee
