AIBU?

to expect DH to close the effing door?

We have a front door and an inner porch door. Every single time DH goes out to put the rubbish out, get the milk, go to the car etc. he leaves both doors open.

The freezing draught blows straight down the hallway into the kitchen and results in me shouting like a mad old woman 'Can you close the f*ing door please, you're letting all the heat out!' or 'Were you born in a barn??'.

No Yanbu- I am exactly the same (and not preg) - my DP as I was still in bed but could hear- left the door open this morning at 5.30 am while his car heated up!

no way, funnily enough our row du jour has been about exactly the same thing.

it's sooooo boring.

just shut the bloody door - I can't see why it's so hard.

DH does this all the fecking time and it really annoys me. He never locks the back door when he's been out, he leaves the garage unlocked, the shed door open, the car unlocked etc, meaning that I have to go round and check everything. I am seriously developing a kind of OCD from having to follow him around all the time.

yabu it's just easier to leave the door open if your running to the car or putting out the bin.

We have two doors between the sitting room & outside.

No one leaves both doors open.

YANBU.

Aha, so hear you all, but there IS something about men and doors...

Almost cat-like, they can't bear closed doors....

Woe betide if THEY are sat on their arse in the kitchen and you pop out with the flaming rubbish to the main bin and can't actually close the ruddy door... Then it'll occur to them to tell you that it's freezing outside...

It's a well known phenomenon..
It's somewhere in the Manual to Blokes, around page 975. The Chapter called 'A Million Ways to Incite Murder in Others.'

MNHQ, can we pleeeeese have a grit teeth red faced smiley, a cross between and ?
We could call it [passive-aggressive]

Next time he does it, lock him out.

Or, you could stop baking lavender cup cakes and writing Waitrose shopping lists and put out the rubbish, bags of cat turds, recycling, rotten food, milk bottles and dirty nappies yourself.

My OH alway leaves the loo doors wide open. This has been cause for many rows as I'm sure y'all understand. It's as if he wants the whole house to smell of shit.
