AIBU?

to buy a buggy that i've never even seen?

hello, this is one of my first posts but i have been a AIBU -addict- lurker for ages.

i am totally confused about travel systems...

there's a chico trio travel system which is about £250 online, however there's nowhere nearby to look at them. (rang the supplier and they couldn't suggest anywhere).

has anyone else bought a buggy without testing it?

and is the chicco trio OK? i think it's the 'enjoy evolution' that i've seen.

thanks for any advice... am in a hormonal fog and incapable of deciding. D thinks i'm mad to buy without trying. baby's due in a month...

Hold off on buying til you at least get some opinions.. there's bound to be somebody on here who can help.

I had a Chicco trio for ds in 2004 it was fab we only had a little house but still wanted a proper carrycot it was really convenient to be able to fold the buggy bit away. It was really good to push and fold, the bits clipped on and off really easily.
The only points you might want to consider are, the pushchair bit and the carrycot take up a lot of space in the boot,
the car seat may not be compatible for your car,
the carrycot bit only lasted my ds for about five months, after that they have to face away from you.

Kitkat.

May be worth asking on the pushchair forum, that is where the pram addicts hang out! Myself included

FWIW I bought a pram that i liked and only tried briefly. I hate it so much now. Only used it twice since i bought it. It looks nice but doesn't push well.

My friend had the chicco one and only used it for a few months as she was dissapointed with it, she found it heavy, the carrycot didn't last long (and looked like a plastic bath-her opinion not mine) and baby had to be forward facing by about 5 months when he outgrew the carrycot.

Personally i would try a few in the flesh and then try and buy online to get a good deal.

thanks all!

EldonAve- yep, the trio comes with a car seat...

notsoteenagemum - thanks for the advice.. i'll check out the car seat.. i think i'll be mostly on the bus (joy!)

LittleMrsHappy -thanks ,the reviews are generally good. they mention a few problems but as it's £500 less than a bugaboo i am desperately trying to overlook them!

CelluliteCity- thanks, i posted on 'buggys' earlier but AIBU seems to be much busier heehee!

4andnotout - eek, thanks for the advice... plastic bath on wheels! ouch...

I bought a pram I'd never tried out or seen. Just read lots and lots of reviews from different places online, and took some of the criticisms with a pinch of salt as they didn;t appear to be too significant to me...and i felt some people just like to moan.

The pram was half the cost of another version so i was prepared to put up with the minor quibbles....and i figured there's always a little compromise needed somewhere....especially if i was going to save over £250.

I love my new pram and pleased i made the leap!
