Am i unreasonable to be offended at my clients appraisal of my report...I work in a male dominated environment and tolerate a lot of banter but for the first time I was really offended....

what an absolute knob

I think he was just liking the sound of his own voice and thought he was being really witty and smart

That is pathetic. I can't believe someone would write that in a work appraisal

sorry no it wasnt a work appraisal, it was his appraisal of my cashflow report, we have to provide the client with monthly reports anticipating spend.....

Aside from his comment he is thick as bits and it takes forever to explain why figures keep changing the way they do ....grrrrr

I don't think it's offensive, tbh. Just a bit crude.

I think it's funny. Not offensive, he wasn't saying you were a tart or that all women are tarts, just that tarts have their knickers down quite a bit.

He probably stayed up all night rehearsing it

He's your client right?

Well there you go.

I used to work in a very tough male oriented environment - I always found that saying something like "Well let's move on, I wouldn't know anything about a tart's knickers" was better than saying "do you have experience of that?". less confrontational you know?

But this guy is your client, and you are in business, so in some ways YABU.
But yeah it's annoying to be fact to face with this ignorance - but then you say he's thick as S%*& anyway - so I wouldn't be offended personally. Some people are just like that.

He's your client right?
Don't sweat the small stuff.

I suppose its about par for the course.......

I will just take sanctuary in the fact that he probably heard that line somewhere else, he couldnt possibly have thought of it himself......and he's been dying to use it
