AIBU?

To want to put a slightly passive agressive message on fb?

NOT my usual style at all. Usually I just have boring stuff re the DC's.

But EVERYONE in my family knew I was having a scan today. EVERYONE expressed great interest in finding out what it is and were supposedly excited and "gagging" to know.

NOT ONE person has asked or even inquired as to how the scan went.

Additionally, my MOTHER knew I was slightly stressed as we had the swine flu so got given that scary talk by the GP about it not having a gullet (FFS!!) (this is the mother who didnt een send the kids a xmas card, nor CALL at xmas as she "got the days wrong"??? Yet can still buy a pressie
for GC who she supposedly doesnt speak to..sigh..I have vented about that before!!)

Baby is fine btw, but still a leeeeetle bit peeved . I REALLY want to put a status update on fb saying "so, anyone want to take a guess?"

But realise it may be a little passive aggressive in terms of wanting to share our exciting news but also feel that the family should give a fuck.

So, wdyt??

Could they be waiting to hear rather than 'pester' for information maybe?
I never ask about anyones scan until they mention it, in case ( god forbid) there is a problem and they don't want to talk ( if that makes sense)

Glad all went well!

I agree with brandonsflower, was this an anomaly scan? Often people worry that there might have been bad news and don't dare to ask, I would just put a happy message on fb and I'm sure the questions will come flooding in then.

Glad the scan went well. I think you're making too much of this fb thing, though. No doubt your friends are concerned but don't want to drop a clanger just in case things are looking bad.

Just post a message saying it all went well and stop fannying about.

LOL It "felt" passive agressive in my head!! Probably says something about how fed up I am!! I just really wish they cared, you know? We are on the other side of the world, so it would e nice if small gestures were made to show that "out of sight" wasnt "out of mind"...

threetime, I would still just tell them. There are SO many bigger issues to really get in a stink about, this is small fry in comparison.

I wouldn't ask about anyone's scan (friend or family) even if I was desperate to know. What if there was something horribly wrong that was none of my business?

I wouldn't ask just in case it was bad news and so would be delighted to read a cheery "Does anyone want to take a guess?" message.

I'd say post it with a smile and enjoy the messages of congratulations in the morning... and add mine too!
