to use the parent/child parking spaces whilst being heavily pregnant??

was jst wondering wot ppl think of this??

my boyfriend has parked in these spaces a couple of times for me if the only other available one is 10 miles away from the door!

I feel bad when he does this but it must admit its great not have to walk any further than i have to in peeing rain with my dodgy back and preganacy waddle!!

he says "you are a parent with a child....you jst cant see it yet!!(well not all of it!!)

am i being a pregnant lazy sod ??

haha, I had to park in one when I was heavily pregnant as needed the room to get out of the car!

I don't think anybody would tell you off for parking in one (I told off someone today for parking in one - he had no kids with him, so I called him on it )

Personally I don't think you're being unreasonable but have read in paper about a woman in Tesco or Asda who did this and got £80 fine. Supermarket refused to revoke fine as said the spaces weren't for pregnant women.

My local Asda has pregnant woman spaces as well as parents and child.

Well, if your boyfriend is driving then he can drop you off at the door and park in a proper space, then bring the car round to you when you're done. Or circle the car park if you are only popping in for one or 2 bits, so you don't need to park in a m&t space then, do you?

If you are out alone, heavily pregnant and really too uncomfortable to walk across a car park, then you probably are too uncomfortable to be doing a huge shop, so will only be in the space a few minutes, won't you? So I don't see how anyone would mind that either.

i would be careful, in some places you will get fined for parking there if you dont have children with you.

yip im afraid i live in a real world where sumtimes i need to go out and do a big shop all by myself heavily pregnant ......... and now and again use the parent/child spaces wen i have too! jst to make life that tiny wee bit easier!

the asda at my bit doesnt havnt spaces for pregnant women! im goin to ask them about that!

dnt now how many car doors I have hit getting out of my own car! ( ooops)!! so it's either a fine from asda or a claim on my insurance for wrecking sum ones car door!!!lol

YANBU a numpyu parked so close to me, in what was not actually a parking space, when I was 38 weeks I couldnt physically get in my car. Wished I had used those spaces

YABU - of course you are. You are taking a space from someone who has to wrestle with any of the following - a pram; a double pram; a toddler and baby; a child, toddler and baby, etc etc etc. You get the picture....

I have not used one or a disabled space even though it has meant walking further - am 39 weeks and walking is just hard work but i know other peoples needs are greater

However i have used the disabled toilet as i couldnt get in the normal one easily - this was in mothercare where you would expect the doorway to be wider

I used the child spaces when I was heavily pregnant, I had SPD and walking was horrid! I felt entirely justified.

YANBU if you're by yourself - but you would be if you were with someone else who could park the car in a normal space after dropping you off.

Personally I woulnd't be pissed off by a heavily pregnant woman parking in a P&C space. I DO get pissed off by the AA vans, builder's vans, young men who clearly aren't disabled and the families where the "children" are all over 8 and/or get left in the car while parent does the shopping...

I'd go for it if I were you. you have a baby, after all, and being heavily pregnant is more of a hassle than having a small baby, in terms of waddling and feeling breathless. I can't believe anyone would have the nerve to challenge you on it! If in doubt, put your baby seat-to-be in the back of the car!

i do think its slightly unreasonable but only cos I know how annoyed I'd be if I couldn;t park with my toddler cos a pregnant woman had parked in the p & c spaces. On the other hand i can remember when I was heavily pregnant and parked in a normal space only to come back and find i couldn't get back into the drivers doors cos some idiot had parked too close and I couldn't get by with my big bump!! So am gonna have to sit firmly on the fence here!!

I think the general rule of thumb should be
'no car seat no p&c parking spot'
i've challenged a young lad with his girlfriend parking in one his reply 'she's only 17!'
if you think being pregnant is hard wait or the littlt one to come along
