I dont really blame the kid that did it, it's a class of 5 and 6 yr olds, but she does look silly, and I thought childrens scissors would'nt be able to cut hair.

YANBU, I would be annoyed too, but only for a little while. Then in coming years you'll look at photos and say "oh yes, that's when dd got her fringe cut by her classmate", roll your eyes and then laugh.

(ds2 cut his own hair the day before he started in reception, so I do empathise. I now look at his first day at school photo and grin).

A friend of dd's cut her fringe short and I actually complimented her to her mum, who then told me that it wasn't an intentional fashion statement!

I thought it looked cute and suited her.

Can a hairdresser make your dd's fringe look "meant"?

My dd cut half of her hair off at the side and slid the scissors under her hairband at the front and hacked away. Resulting bogbrush front and asymetric bob wasn't a good look. Childrens safety scissors do cut. Teacher was mortified.

DD cut her hair when she was 2 and managed to make the back, and sides wonky, but the crown look almost shaved.
I had a two year old resembling a monk for ages.

It's funny now, but wasn't at the time, I did cry loads.
I may also have said that she wasn't pretty anymore and I only wanted a pretty daughter
I am suitably ashamed now.

If it helps she ran into a lamp post a couple of months back and is now stuck with a photo of her with a black eye on her passport for the next 5 years?

Ds has a black eye slightly closed and totally bloodshot in his passport photo, he looks like a Mafiosi.

Oh no.

The day after my DD (4)had a lovely haircut she cut chunks out of the front. I was furious! The hairdresser then neatened it so she now has a fringe which she hates. She now lives in alice bands.

If there is enough hair at the front you could push it back with an alice band?
