to get drunk with my DH in the morning?

DH and I would love a night away in a hotel having not had a night away from all the children since DD1 was born 6.5y ago and DD4 is still too young to leave overnight.

We'd also love to get tipsy together but can't do it in the evening as we bedshare.

AWBU to get my parents to have the DDs for the whole day one day and to get drunk in the morning and spend all day in bed so we're sober by the time we get the children back in the evening?

It's winter, it's practically dark all the time anyway

Yeah... I suppose you could start drinking before it gets bright and then watch the sunrise!!

I can't imagine it's a nice feeling though?

Yanbu, I think it is a great idea. Now all you have to do is work out a nice easy meal as you are going to get really hungry late afternoon!

Come back and tell us all the details so we get jealous

I dunno, you'd have a hangover when the kids came back and that would be rubbish. How old is DD4? Holding out for a weekend away would probably be more fun.

Although, a day off, with breakfast in bed and a bottle of champagne does sound quite lovely. But I'm not sure it would have cleared out of your system enough by the evening for the cosleeping.

Flamingo, u did say you wanted to get tipsy, not smashed so dont think you need to worry about having a hangover by the evening!

My hangover thought was only if you were getting dead drunk. If you're just going for the tipsy that's not even a problem. Go for it! Champagne in bed!

I would love a 'sinday'

No way am I getting totally plastered! I want to get laid so don't really want to pass out

Diva - why is the young children an issue? The whole point is we won't be responsible for them for the whole day.

I have only had one drink every few months since having children, so it won't take much for me to be pleasantly tipsy but even that would make me sleep too heavily to be safe co-sleeping unless I'd had a good few hours for it to be out of my system. Oh, and I don't get hangovers when I stick to spirits.

I'm excited now.......probably won't be for weeks and weeks though - got to persuade my parents to have the DDs for a whole day and come up with a plausible reason other than 'I want to drink and shag all day long'
