I haven't slept for weeks and I have had enough.

Tomorrow he's having the op for better or worse and I don't want to think about it anymore.

I built a zook with DS#1, helped DS#2 with hw and now I'm going to quietly dissolve in a bottle.

Is that Ok?

Thanks.

I feel like worry has etched a pattern in my brain. Wine helps to dissolve it a little.

Wine is good, wine makes everything good for one night at least

Seriously though, fingers crossed for your dad's op. Can I ask though, is it a routine op or a complicated one? (without making you go into details). only for my own nosiness to gauge worrying scale.

You need to get some decent sleep, hopefully for you, once your dad's op is done and he is OK you will get it

Air what others have said and hope his op is ok.

On the other hand i think we should have a wine party on the a38

Hope all goes well today Orm and that you enjoyed your well-deserved wine.

My Dad is seeing the surgeon on Tuesday so am waiting to see what happens then.

Am sure your Dad will be fine. But it is scary.

I too have to drive up and down that damn road and that on it's own is a major cause of stress, without the other worries you have on top of it! It's nice to get in and have a glass of wine to take the edge off!

I got some audio books and listen to them on the drive - just takes my mind off things and stops me getting mad at selfish people on the road! Might help?

Hope everything else goes well...

Hi Orm,

My uncle (aged 77) had a triple bypass on Tuesday. It went well, and although he is feeling bruised and battered, hopefully he will be back on track walking up Scottish mountains soon.

Good luck to you and your Dad - it is horiible waiting for news.

Heart Op's are a worrying one. I hope you hear some news soon. Shouldn't be too much longer if he went down at 9...

A close friend's father recently had a bypass and he was out after 6 days and recovery is going really well. Hopefully that will be your dad too. Fingers crossed for you.

Thanks for much for your support and good wishes. MN at it's best

Yes, it went fine. He was just coming out of the op when I rang at 4.10. A long long day. I think we had about 20 cups of tea. I think they were fed up of hearing my voice by the end!

Hi Orm

I'm also doing the A38 as mum has terminal cancer. It's not much fun. But it's not the ugliest road in the world, but it could wear down the patience of a saint doing the hospital run on a regular basis.

Glad the op went fine.
