She is over a year old. And not particularly small. But she still goes 'meep'. I have never ever heard her say miaow or anything approaching it. Just meep.

We live in cat city - just about every house in the street and surrounding area has a cat. So Lola has to defend her territory and see off uppity Toms. How the hell can she do that when she sounds like a squeaky toy?

She must suffer from self-esteem issues. And then of course there is the fact that for some reason she and her brother were seperated from their mother at about 5 weeks of age and put in a cupboard (large, warm, well-lit one I might add) with a rabbit That must have had an effect. Do you think she is trying to make rabbit noises?

I am now wondering whether my cat has been kept with pigeons in his early childhood... He doesn't really go "meow", he goes "ghroo"

One of my mogs 'meeps' as well, given us hours of fun taking the piss

She does compensate though with the hugeness of her snoring exploits, you can hear them over the telly!

We had a 'meep' cat a long time ago. She seemed to always be a kitten.

Unlike the loud boy we have now - Who was the leader of the Chinese Communist Party?
Cat - "Mao".

Ours goes 'ag' and 'eek'. He's a thumping great boy who was only done when a mature adult, so he's essentially the size of a tomcat. It's very undignified. A previous cat used to open his mouth and no sound would come out. Ever. Until his brother died, and then he found his voice aged around 12. Weird.

Our old girl who died in 2008 was very obviously well-spoken. I think she miaowed in rp. Very good projection.

Oh, and I had a cat who never miaowed. Did growl though - she'd go into a corner if you gave her a pork chop bone and growl at you. Weird again.
