-Quinny Zapp (still got)
-Hauck Sport (just given away tonight through freecycle)
-Phil and Ted's Vibe (Just advertised for sale as oldest no longer uses double seat)


So, er..I have just ordered Maclaren Techno XT from Kiddicare

I have never understood this obsession with having loads of different prams/pushchairs. They aren't a fashion accessory, they are to transport babies and toddlers. Provided they aren't full of spikes, or designed for dolls, your child will be fine in it. What fricking difference does it make what colour it is?

Why not buy a nice new bag or pair of shoes if you're in a mad shopping frame of mind?

I have 3 ds' and love pushchairs my hubby thinks I am mad! However I am not the only one, I know others and even the ones who don't have a puschair obsession still end up with loads Despite thinking I'm mad when we where thinking about and trying to concieve baby no. 4 hubby still got interested in the latest models!

Youngest is now 4 1/2 and my obsession is now wearing off but I still can't help looking. Although as I am now longer buying I can spend the money on clothes instead to celebrate getting back down to a size 10 at last so it's not all bad

I don't understand this phenomenon.

A friend brought us our first pram. We used it religiously until it fell apart, even though it was cumbersome and not very nice really.

Then we bought another. Total expenditure during prewalking years about £70.

You are bonkers. Wouldn't it be better to put the money in a fund for university or make a sensible investment?

I have had a few different ones over the last 5 years but not for the same thing. I had

britax travel system - for my first
then a smaller buggy (cant remember what type)
then got a double for my older two (nipper 360)
had to replace with another double for the third (jane)
now have single loola for my third.

we have two at the moment the double and a single.

Where do you keep all these buggies?

the best one was the first but we had to move across the country and as we were not using it we couldnt justify trying to lug it in a very tightly packed van (didnt know number two was on his way then!) the nipper was wrecked when we put it in the shed between numbers 2 and 3!

we keep ours in the space under the stairs fold the double since we only use it rarely and just wheel the single into the space.

Ouch! keep the flogging coming, I deserve it!

Carrie - how many of those do you still own?!

In my (weak) defence, The MB is my main buggy and I love it. The 2nd hand Quinny from Ebay was for the frame as I could put the carseat on it and keep in the boot. The crappy Hauck was £20 on Ebay and bought for a holiday. The Phil and Ted's I only bought for the first few months with baby and toddler, knowing I would sell on. SO now I'm left with the MB and the Quinny as my light runaround, but it doesn't recline, and it rattles so much I get stared at on approach in the street!

I have to take my buggy in to nursery to pick up my son as my back is bad so I avoid carrying my 9 month old in, and MB takes up too much room in there.
So the Maclaren is my new runaround..

It scares me how I can explain the indefensible. I am a filthy pram hun

What's next, virtual hugs?

I keep the big one in the living room. The Quinny fram in the boot. Phil and Ted's currently in kitchen waiting for a buyer.. It's getting cramped

I have had loads, just because I can. I do not need to justify why I have had a few. I have just bought my last ever one, I am hoping that it will last until ds no longer needs on.

P&T double - used every day

Single 3 wheeler - just been brought back from friend who borrowed it

Maclaren Quest - Being delivered!!!!!

Mum still has the cheapy Asda and I have the Qunniy zapp (just rescued from the shed before the mold kicked in, now to live under the stairs). I don't really need any now but am holding on to it in case a child is ill, we get a little foster child or we have another of our own.

The Bebecar was first but too big for London and too heavy due to c-section.
So got mothercare 3 wheeler which was great but fell apart so went back to shop. So got graco to replace it. Then needed a double so got phil and teds and bought tandem from a friend to put in car boot for runaround (phil and teds to fafy to put in and out of boot). Then got toys r us umbrella fold as graco did not work well with buggy board. Then when expecting 3rd found that the older two ds' had made the fabric on phil and teds stretch so they touched each other and the floor so got nipper double. Then finnaly ds3 swung on back of umbrella fold and broke it so got the zap.

I just never found one that was up to the job or suitable for everywhere I needed to use it

I am a bit overly excited about my Maclaren. There's an element of thinking I should have just gone for it all along, but I got disctracted by the slutty, posh three wheelers...

Plustrying to find a buggy that's both lightweight to carry and smooth to push for my back is hard. Mountain Buggy best ever to push, but blimmin heavy to lift in to boot.

WHY???

I still havethe same mclaren techno xt I've had for about 6 ytears, has done two kids, still going strong. looks a bit grubby, but it is strong, light, folds up easily and you only need one buggy.

Lotster - keep the mac in the car, MB in the hall. Works for us.

I have a picture in my head of women walking into a room the size of a banqueting hall, surveying their hundreds of buggies and deciding which one goes best with their outfit.

I don't think I'll ever understand. Is it a question of: One for off-roading, one for shopping, one for shopping in more upmarket areas, one for the school run, one for if you get invited to a cocktail party by an elegant spinster etc etc?

Maggie, hopefully after Tuesday (Techno delivery day) I will see what you have always known...

You can't fit two or even three kids in a techno xt, you can't take it off roading and it doesn't much like the beach - one pushchair just would not have fitted all our needs

Tidey I could write your post in the opposite way - I can't understand the fascination some women have with handbags and/or shoes - surely all a bag is for is to hold your stuff and all shoes need to do is protect your feet and feel comfortable?

I don't see a problem with spending a lot of money on a pushchair - you're likely to be using it every day for about 3 years, so you might as well get one which is nice to look at, comfortable to use and has features which please you - I'd rather spend a bit extra to begin with than end up feeling irritated by a cheaper one. I prefer my Loola Up though to the Bugaboos/Quinnys because I think with those you are paying more for the name.

I have to say it does make a difference what you have. Soem of you obviously don't have to walk over rough ground.

Why do people have so many? Because there isn't one that's perfect...
