...for the Gym?

It's a private one, the council run ones smell like wee. And the local pay as you go gyms are all weight lifting based. So full of grunting men.

This one runs kids activities for DS while I work out. Can afford and am regular gym user but seems like such a big commitment.

Anyone else used one of these style of gyms?

I've never paid that much but I would if it was a good one - especially one with activities for the kids. Is it a Virgin Active? My sister's a member and the kids stuff works really well - means she actually has time to work out.

It's only a waste if you don't go...

It's not a virgin one, it does swimming lessons and kids tennis and has a massive indoor play area for them. That adds £20 on the bill alone. But when you think it's usually around £5 per hour for childcare.

Idea is it will be easier for me to go than it is now, i manage twice a week at best at the mo, cos i wont need to find a babysitter.

if you can afford it go for it- i go to a gym (its only £34 but its in the north - cheshire so is cheaper than southern prices) and it's my lifeline. Oh yes and I also have a personal trainer as my luxry (as DP has a season ticket). If you can comfortably afford it, do it. Getting excersize sets a good example for your children.

I'm same as Pippa51. Same price gym and in the North.
If it's not a finacial squeeze I don't see what the issue is. How long are you tied in for? If it's,say,12 months see how often you go and then work out the cost per visit and see if it is worth continuing with.
(My cost per visit is abit on the high side at the moment I hasten to add best get down there more often!!)

YAtotallyNBU. I used to pay £86 a month for my gym and it was worth every penny. Clean, tons of classes, hydrobath, steam room, sauna, free towels & toiletries. Wonderful. We have now moved house so I can't go there any more and have nothing but the scummy council gym, which pains me. I have often said I want to open my own luxury lovely gym as there just isn't one in our area, but I don't really - I want SOMEONE ELSE to open one, so I can join it. Anything up to £100 a month is fine with me.

Lol Thanks girls!

Feel a lot less silly now. Partner raised an eyebrow at me last night. He's not one for sports and gym though bless him.

Can't wait to sign up and get going now!
