To be fed up with how the woman accross the road parks.

We live on a dead end road, opposite me is a small car park that will take about 8 cars, although most people park one of their cars on the road outside their house, on our side of the road, regardless, which side they live, and park their second car in the car park.

Not the people diganolly acccross from us.

They park both their cars on their side of the road, so that the road becomes a salam track, as you weave in and out of the cars.

Twice now they have actually blocked me in, (yes I know I have a huge 8 seater, I am a CM) and although I know they are in, they dont answer the door when you knock, so I end up having to drive up onto the grass fronts of our houses untill I can get passed.

I know they have been asked by the street warden (we live in Army Quarters) to park on one side of the road, but just seem to ignore it.

There does not seem to be any reason, apart from the fact that they are too lazy to walk over the road, that they cant walk over the road.

They are both serving soldiers that go running every morning, so no diability, no children to carry accross the road, no dog to get in and out, Just bloody inconsiderate.

Good that feels better just nting.ar

Yes, I feel your pain. We have some very strange parking round our cul-de-sac and it puzzles me. We used to have a massive problem with people parking in front of our drive to avoid walking the additional 10 paces from an actual space. People are strange,as Jim Morrison would say...

I assume they don't park illegally?

You could speak to them about their parking and ask very nicely if they could park with more consideration and describe the problem you are having. Then see what they say.

Unfortunately, other than that I am not sure what you can do if they're not parked illegally.

YANBU BTW!

I dont know if it is illegal, is blocking the road illegal?

There are no yellow lines or anything, tis just a normal road on a housing estate.

Although I havnt tried talking to them myself, I know others in the street have, and they say yeah ok, stop for a week or so, then go back to it.

You could ring the police and describe the problem? If it is illegal, maybe a parking ticket may persuade them

My neighbour opposite me refuses to park in her drive. She parks in the road, but our roads are narrow and it's difficult to get out of our drive when she's there, but she's not parking illegally.

Parking brings out the worst in people!!

If you talk to someone at DHE could they not withdraw the parking space they have?

Not sure what you mean Scary, we dont have 'parking' spaces, do you mean the car pass to be on the camp?

It's only illegal if there are cars on both sides of the road - just on one side is fine, evenif it does create a slalom track. It's a pain, but not much you can do about it, especially as the warden has asked them already.

They are hardly going to pay any attention to you - unfortunately

would the way they park cause an obstruction to a fire engine?

if so then something should be done, on public roads the police would deal with it - maybe military police?

I think you can tell alot about a person's character by the way they choose to park! Your neighbours would in my books be inconsiderate selfish arses

On our street there is no off street parking and there are cars jam packed on both sides of teh street bumper to bumper all the way up. I don't think it's illegal....you just have to be careful when there is someone coming the other way as there is not space for 2 cars to pass.
