To want some acknowledgement that is my birthday?

Today was my birthday and apart from my parents who gave me money,I got a card from the hubby and kids.

I know money isn't plentiful at the moment but even a chocolate orange would have been a nice thought.Not specifically a chocolate oragnge but something little.I don't want diamond earrings but I would have liked something if it was only a token from the kids.

We had chinese but I paid for that as I object to cooking on my birthday.

My DH and sister are a bit crap about birthdays not really the birthday sort either... I think with people like that it doesn't mean they don't care about you. Just that birthdays aren't their forte!
