to be suspicious of a smell?

My bed smells of my friend.

There I have said it.

I have nothing to base anything suspicious on regarding what my DH did or did not do last night when I was away for a rare night, at his insistence.

I have never had, and probably have no reason now to suspect anything negative. BUT.

I have been sat in bed recognising a smell. its not a sex smell, or a perfume smell, but its a person smell. And it took me a while to figure it out. But I now realise, without a shadow of a doubt that this smell is my friend's smell.

AIBU to have my suspicions of something not adding up here?

Tee hee.
I hate those memory foam pillows smell. I change my dh's after 2 sleeps. And it has a plush cover plus a cotton one and a pillow case.

Then again, I have one of those pregnancy noses, even though not pregnant!

Well it might be an ancient thread but it's made me giggle.

I have never noticed any of my dh's friends having a special smell...why are you getting so close to him?

rubbersoul Sun 29-Aug-10 23:09:51

Best thing I've read all day! Nearly wet myself at 'it's a him'

Glad it's all good grin

No ida why this has been resurrected but it is fantastic! grin

I bet the DH couldn't smell anything on the pillow at all. He probably thought it was a lovely fresh lightly-used pillow, not skanky at all.

pmsl grin

Lynli Sun 29-Aug-10 22:04:21

Did he wash your bedding in the same detergent that your friend uses?

BubbaAndBump Sun 29-Aug-10 22:00:30

MDUK you're a year out of date here!

MDUK Sun 29-Aug-10 21:51:07

Classic post - BTW I wouldn't mention to your DH at all if were you...

crankytwanky Thu 20-Aug-09 11:20:31

grin
Just shows how good your sense of smell is...
You were right it was another person smell.

Now all you have to do is gently break it to not-gay-and sleeping-with-your-husband friend that he smells of dandruff, sweat and drool. wink

Can I please have a glass of what she's drinking (points to OP)

Greatfun Wed 19-Aug-09 20:04:24

PMSL

Naat Wed 19-Aug-09 19:59:48

Oh my! Definitely the funniest/best thread of the day grin

'Pillow-gate' grin

Glad you found what caused the smell, although now you'll have to air the room apparently grin

What a powerful nose, Suspiciousssss

TaxiLady Wed 19-Aug-09 19:28:38

oh lol at the pillow that smelled!

i too had a terrible pregnancy sense of smell, could put the kettle on for weeks as the boiling water smelled bad

all sorts of places were off the list for visits as they smelled awful, even if we had been there the day before and it was fine!
...poor poor dh :D

what with that and the jar of beetroot a day!

landrover Wed 19-Aug-09 19:23:12

yeuch

hellymelly Fri 14-Aug-09 23:36:21

the pregnancy nose is a fearsome thing. My poor dh spent several nights on the sofa with all the windows open because he had eaten something that triggered my nausea.I could smell him from ten yards away even a day later.Uggh.Am glad you had a happy ending!

Sazisi Fri 14-Aug-09 23:29:07

Oh you have to tell him. It's too hilarious I just laughed 'til my face hurt!

Trikken Fri 14-Aug-09 22:32:43

teamcullen Fri 14-Aug-09 22:16:29

hee hee. What a good thread to read while waiting for BB evictions. Hee Hee

suspiciousssss Fri 14-Aug-09 21:58:46

well I am pleased I tickled some people grin

I cannot seem to get rid of the bloody smell either now, even though offensive pillow is out of the room.

Bloody pregnancy nose.

I might have to tell me friend he stinks and ruined my early night! I am not sure about telling DH, he might not find it amusing to be suspected of gay sex with a smelly friend grin

KnickKnack Fri 14-Aug-09 21:53:40

This is the funniest thread I've read all evening!!

<<sorry grin >>

Leeka Fri 14-Aug-09 21:44:51

Brilliant! grin

If it were me who had done this, I wouldn't be able to resist telling my dp, even knowing how silly I'd make myself sound.

LovelyTinOfSpam Fri 14-Aug-09 21:41:49

Well thank christ for that.

The gay sex with your mate while expecting 2nd child would not have been a happy outcome!

Just remember that at no point did you seriously think anything could have happened. You were simply puzzled grin

Your DH will be stunned when you tell him you sniffed out a pillow!

slowreadingprogress Fri 14-Aug-09 21:35:21

wow. And for your marriage this was nearly pillow-gate. phew. grin

suspiciousssss Fri 14-Aug-09 21:34:43

oh how can I even face him knowing I contemplated, even for a moment that he might have...

poor poor man who has a hormonal woman for a wife!
