Have months of correspondence with them telling them to stop billing me and to bill exh since we have split and I don't use the service and nor do I live there anymore. Right arm didn't speak to left arm but thought we had a breakthrough a couple of months ago when they requested some proof of divorce which they got. Didn't hear anymore and today BAM this notification lands on my doormat.

According to this.

So it must be true if at least two of us say it is.

Tip: write to the CEO if you are at the end of your tether with a company, or ask to speak to their "high level complaints dept". It works. You get someone with a brain who will sort out your problem.

Tiscali were shit when I used them too. I cancelled it, then got a 'final demand' because they hadn't collected the last months payment from my card, threatening to cancel my service. PLEASE cancel the bloody thing.

At least they don't ring me twice a week anymore to try to get me to have tiscali tv and phone as well as their overpriced tinternet.

They really are the most awful company I have ever dealt with.

We tried to cancel, but the cancellation service were only available 9-5.Could we get through? No!

The call centres are in India - no problem with that - very polite. But they did not have a clue what they were talking about and we had to explain from the beginning every time we called

We were threatened with litagation if we didn't pay after we were sent a letter saying we didn't have to pay anymore!

Oh they did this to my poor mil, she and my fil moved house, they wanted broadband, tiscali never connected it so when my fil died some months later we informed them (had to even send death cert) and said as they hadnt connected yet to leave it as mil didnt use a computer

They continued to send bills to dead fil which upset and worried my mil no end

Tiscali told me that they were going to send the bailiffs round because i owed them a fiver which I wouldn't pay as it was for something that I cancelled and I had copies of the letters I'd sent them which proved it.

I said to the bloke "so you are going to send the bailiffs round to a heavily pregnant woman's house over a fiver" and he just said "yes".

Wankers.

I'd go for recorded delivery letter rather than email. Keep it short, make it clear what you expect them to do, and ask that you get a response within (say) 14 days.

But, yes, Tiscali are utterly shite.

I personally think Virgin are the biggest wankers of all.

Dh is really good at writing letters of complaint - always includes a bit of sarcasm and contempt - and also threaten them with the Office of Fair Trading.
