Holiday has been booked, we are off to sunny Wales for a week. After spending nearly £500 on a place to stay, Im feeling rather put out with all this rain.
The first year it was ok, a novelty perhaps!
The second year, we grinned (after a few drinks) and had a bbq in the drizzle again!!
Now Im just plain sick of this weather. The weather men say this is an average British summer!! hmm
Sorry I sound like an ungrateful madam, but I soley came up with the quids to go on hol and feel pretty miffed off, so Im having a moan, anybody else want to join in!!
Im sure I will feel great once I`m there, I expect I will drag everyone out of the house just to catch 1/2 an hour of sunshine!

YABU - why book a holiday to Wales in the "British Summer" especially at that cost - head of to foreign sun if you want it to be sunny

I don't think £500 sounds v.expensive to rent a cottage in the summer holidays ? Can you really take a family of 4 abroad for that price in July/Aug?

Anyway - YANBU in moaning, I believe that the met office were in cahoots with the govt. & trying to boost the British economy by saying that it was going to be a great bbq weather this summer.

It is pants - rain rain go away.

YAssooooooNBU
I am sick sick sick to death of the british weather.
i am so effing fed up I feel your pain i really do!!
We are off to Devon end of august and i swear if it rains all week i will just die of depression.

I keep looking on various differnt weather websites just to find one thats not showing rain for the next 10 weeks.

I totally understand how you feel,we cant go abroad as we have no passports and my daughter has a chronic illness that's in the early stages so don't want to risk another country.

I am praying for some sun,I don't want excessive heat or anything too demanding, lol, just NO RAIN!!!!

Enjoy your holiday anyway
x

The Met office says

For the rest of summer, rainfall is likely to be near average over the UK. A repeat of the very wet summers of 2007 and 2008 remains unlikely.

We base our average rainfall on measurements over the whole season for the years 1971?2000. The UK average for June to August is 227 mm.

Temperature
For the UK and much of Europe temperatures for the rest of the summer are likely to be above average.

As you would expect, temperatures can vary quite widely over the summer. So we take an average for the whole season and measure against that. The UK average for June to August from 1971?2000 is 14.1 °C.

I take that to mean it will rain but be above 14°C. Not sure if that makes you feel any better as it doesnt sound very hot!

so if its hotter it will evaporate up more water and rain more - jolly good
