I don't think it's as bad as smelly kelly bloody £50 shoes with free child slap or Wink bingo with some poor woman who's still in her jim jams walking around the ceiling. Poor thing. She wasn't paid enough for that.

I bet you have. A poor large lady, dressed in pink jim jams, sitting in her living room by herself on the computer, then she starts running up the walls. It's sick!

It is VILE, I hate it..... they could have at least changed the script to "I want to use the toilet" instead of "poo"

Yep, that ad has been making appearances on threads such as 'things that irrationally annoy you' for a while now.

DH and I both scream abuse at the telly when it comes on.

My current favourite ad is the one that implies the earth will kill you if you don't buy some ugly recycled shoes.

lol, there's the Persil 'mum' ad. I'm not a mum apparantly because I don't use persil.

the one that implies that simply because they got some babies to giggle on camera clearly all the researcha nd statistics about breastfeeding are just made up nonsense

Why did they have to have that woman dance up the walls in her jammies- are they trying to say she has nothing better to do than sit at home all day in her jammies all day and play bingo??

And yes the poo one is so annoying!!

Report
FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 15/04/2009 22:26

Yes, between £40 and 50, with free make up in the shape of a kitten with a 'magic wand brush' (barf)

Smelly kelly's on cartoon network type shity channels. Every bloody commercial break. I'm so grateful my child's a BOY! Who the hell would buy £40/50 shoes that have plastic flowers stuck to them????barf!

fluffy, don't worry... my dd screams 'mommy i want that from santa/ for my birthday/ with my pocket money at every ad on tv... except the smelly kelly piece of shit sparkly shoes one.... even an ad for detergent is more enticing to her.,... and she's completely glitter obsessed so they truely are revolting if she's not in the slightest bit interested

Report
FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 15/04/2009 22:37

They are really nasty.

Report
PinkTulips · 15/04/2009 23:04

My boys used to see the smelly kelly advert - and would sing the tune like it was a nursery rhyme!
Moved house, got rid of sky, now only cbeebies with no ads. Phew, it was only a matter of time before ds1 asked for a pink twinkly pair of shoes

My own pet hate re ads are the mascara ones that show outrageous looking lashes... then the small print at the bottom of the screen to say 'suchabody styled with some lash inserts and enhanced in post production'
In other words she's wearing false eyelashes AND they paint on extra lushlashlength when they tinker with the film.

The hair ones that the small print says 'bimbo styled with some natural hair extensions cared for with gloop shampoo'

etc

etc

I think the Smelly Kelly ads started when my ds was about 2, he was obsessed with them! At the time you got a free make up phone tat thing with them.

We've always wound him up about this and about a year ago we asked him if no-one would find out, would you REALLY REALLY want a pair? Poor wee fella, he said yes, while his evil father and I fell about the floor laughing.

Yes, he really probably is scarred for life, but we're not normally so cruel. We still ask him if he wants a pair now and he just says no and glares.

God help us if he turns out to be gay, he'll NEVER trust us to come out!
