AIBU?

To not want to give me tea to the bloody dog?

I was a friend's house earlier and we decided to get a takeaway. I paid £7 for a lamb korma and as i'd hardly eaten all day, I was absolutely famished. So when it arrived, I just want to enjoy it in peace.

But no, their bloody dog decides to sit straight in front of me and stare. I ignored it for a while but then my friend started saying "oh look, he wants some of your korma!" and I'm thinking "I really don't give a shit what it wants, get it away from me whilst I'm eating"

So I carry on eating my tea, self conciously now as the dog is still sat there and my friend is looking at me she then says "He just want's some of the chicken"

FFS, Is it really too much to ask to expect to eat a meal in peace? and I know what dogs are like, you give them what they want and they'll stare even more for another piece.

Never feed a dog from your plate!

Your friend is being a twit.

She will never be able to eat in peace without her dog drooling all over her and whinging annoyingly.

And her dog will get fat and die young.

So YANBU, clearly.

Dogs should eat dog food surely...??

Cheeky cow. It makes me mad how some people put their dogs into the same category of importance as a person. Mutts should know their place, and she should have sent it into another room while you ate. She was very rude. YANBU.

Where food is concerned my dog has never given up hope and will persist on sitting begging despite never being fed from the plate.
To get round this I lock her out of the room while I eat...her 'please I'm starving' face is enough to put a greedy guts like me off so I would always ban her if I had a guest.

Cheeky bint! I'd be pissed off too.

MMy mum's dearly departed mutt was the same. He'd sit staring at you with drool dripping on the floor......till I put him outside.

Why didn't you just tell her the dog was putting you off your food?

She's quite mad, anyone with half a brain would have put the dog in a different mood.

Next time, buy the dog a vindaloo and put it in his bowl. She'll have fun mopping that up

Your friend is a lunatic and is letting the bloody dog run the house. In my house the dog would have been sent to its bed for begging.

Next time, roll it over and bite its ear, growling at the same time. Not only will you get your point across to the craven hound, but you will lose batty friend at the same time. Result.

My dog has never been fed from our plates but unfortunately he has become a bit of a beggar these days as my 3 and nearly-2-year-old don't quite understand why they can't give doggy their unwanted food. It's a win-win situation as far as they're concerned, not to mention highly hilarious. Sigh.

However YANBU at all, it's disgusting to have a begging, drooling dog at your feet and even more disgusting to feel obliged to dig your hands into your curry and then stick them into a dog's mouth! Yuck yuck yuck. If that'd been my dog I'd have been mortified and my little canine companion would find himself out in the garden quicker than you can say 'Korean delicacy'.
