Well...dh had been clean shaven for most of our time together....than he started growing a beard....he took it of for a while, but now it's back....
I find his beard so revolting....he looks like an old man with it and it looks weird as he is blond but beard is ginger....
if it would look good on him, I suppose I could forgive him, but it looks farking ugly...and basically it really turns me off him....I don't fancy snogging him or anything..I mean it;s like he got a bush in his face, fgs...
He knows how I feel about it , but wants to keep it.
Tbh....I wonder f he is trying to tell me something, like that he doesn't care if we shag or not...as he ain't getting it right now, that is for sure....I would feel like I am snogging my mums ex-husband, who was kinda my father figure...

Now I know it is kinda shallow, and I should just love him for the person he is....but, well...he wouldn't be turned on by me if I would to put on massive amounts of weight or if I would stop shaving etc...
am rambling...and not really sure what my point is anymore....I suppose I am just so fed up.....

There's a plan.

Why do men do this. Went to see a friend the other day, and he's grown mutton chops. Why why why?

I'm the other way around!...if my DH lost his beard he would look like a potato..a bald potato..mr frickin potato head!...I know what you mean! ...but I like the beard a certain way..not all uncontrolled and bush-man!...men go through this stage of beard growing...mine wanted to see how thick the beard would grow??!...I was well pissed he looked like a black hill-billy gone wrong!!!...it's his beard so just grin and beard it! (sorry)..lol

I love a beard! My new man has a ginger beard which I love. Weirdly he is also blond with ginge beard (not that he has much hair left on top mind you).

I'm with you. I couldn't snog anyone with a beard.

Oh yes, love the veet idea!

I would feel exactly the same way as you Fairlady, luckily my Dh's attempts at growing one in the past were not up to much and he quickly realised I didn't find it attractive

don't blame you - I would find it revolting too.

( see I'm nice like that.. H got so drunk once that I managed to shave thim a neet little bald pubic triangle.. which was very funny as the rest of his body is hairy.. he got up and only noticed when he went for a pee in the morning... @ an ichy 2 weeks following)

you could scatter some dead moths on his pillow for extra effect

I was going to say YABU but then you mentioned he's blonde with ginger beard... and its only just appeared.

so YANBU cos you didn't fall for him like that.

Mr flibberty however, can grow a full face black beard in about 3 days, he would spend all his life shaving and its so bad that now he just clippers it on a 0 setting once a fortnight or so! When its newly shaved its really scratchy after just hours, but 2 days growth is nice and soft.

Funny thing is I had never even gone out with anyone who had a beard, I used to think they were yucky.

Just shows its whats inside his head not growing on it that is important

LOL Vamonos.. not as good as the friend of mine who found out that her H was having an affair.. she didn't say anything.. but she did shave a checker board styleee into his leg hair when he was asleep

Report
Vamonos · 13/04/2009 19:26

That is good, but I think I prefer the bald pubic triangle, she should have done that instead

DH grows a moustache every November for Movember (for charidee) - not a fan myself, especially since he is blonde but gets a darker mo. Also hate the fact our wedding anniversary is in November so every year we end up going out somewhere nice but with him looking like an old tramp (in the early stages of mo-growth).

I like a beard personally, and I get sad when dh shaves his off periodically. But it is his face, and to be honest he should be able to do what he likes with it. He would find me more attractive with long hair, but I like to keep it short. If he shunned me for not doing what he wanted I would consider that very upsetting and highly controlling behaviour. It would be nice if he was considerate of your feelings, but it doesn't sound as if you are being considerate of his - you might want to find out why he has decided to grow a beard (is it because he likes the way it looks, or dislikes shaving for example). Do you shave or stay slim for your dh btw, because if not I don't see that that is relevant at all.

DH tries to trick me into letting him have a beard every now and then by the stealth method. IE he often has a little bit of stubble but I get the I've not had time to shave excuse for awhile. Then when I say shave its gross I get the BTW me and my friends at work are all growing beards . Sorry stubble is OK but beards just do nothing for me.I find that the threat of me refusing to shave my legs or armpits until it comes off does the trick. YANBU!!!!

my DH has a beard but that's because shaving irritates him so he only shaves about once a month. I don't like him with a beard, it ages him a lot! But if he's happy with that then I'm happy. I don't really find it that attractive tbh, and it's v unhygenic too. all the food bits getting stuck in the beard..YUK!!

nooka, he has it because he can...he first grew his beard when he became a Provo seargant in the Army, and traditionally that is the only role in the Army where they are allowed to have a beard...
you know, I can put up with his hairline receeding and him putting on a few pounds...I mean, that is age related and can't be done that much about...I mean, he isn't heavily overweight or anything...just that middle age spread...ifykim...that is fine...but the beard is pure choice. He knows how I feel about it....he knows that one reason it disturbs me is, that a beard, the way he has it, is for me a father-figure thing....and that that is why I can not find it sexy on him...iykwim...

and yes, I shave for him and do ty to stay slim....not thin...but slim and am not much more than I was when we first met, and we have 3 children together....indeed, I also have let my hair grow a bit (used to have it very short and it is now chinlenght) because I know he loves me with longer hair...if I had the hair fr it, I would have really long hair, but sadly my hair is quite thin and fine...so, any longer and it starts to look shite...
Obviosuly I don't do the above just for him, I also like myself better slim and shaved, etc....

Maybe I am being controlling, and yes, it is silly, but his beard makes me want to boak, I can't help that...and I just can't get all horny for him, if he looks like that....I just can't , his beard just totally puts me off.....

Love the Veet idea, etc...and that pubic triangle shave story had me lol very much!
