AIBU?

To find the chaos, destruction and snot too much sometimes?

I know I have lots to be grateful for, and today is no different from any other day, but it just seems to be getting on top of me today.

My belongings are no longer my own. My DC think my handbag, makeup and jewellery are an extension of the dressing up box.

All the clothes in my wardrobe have been pulled off the hangers, because they play hide and seek there.

The legs of my jeans are covered in snot, despite my best efforts at being permanently armed with a tissue.

My good saucepans have dinges in them.

My Roberts radio is banjaxed (wedding gift - wail).

There are only so many high cupboards, locked cupboards and closed rooms that you can have.

It is largely down to my DS. My DD would never have thought up the inventive ways he finds to be destructive.

Sigh. I know IABU and need to take a chill pill.

It would also appear that I am no longer capable of writing in paragraphs. It just gets worse.

YANBU but it sounds like they need a bit of disapline, not all dc are this destructive, mine would be hung, drawn and quartered if they treated my home this way, even my 2 yr old put his toys away after him

Yanb THAT u, some days are grim. Luckily, it does seem to be just the odd day when chaos rules. A good scream into a pillow can work wonders for me. Then I just kind of slide into acceotance and somehow it's alwsys better the next day. HTH.

Almost 4 & 2.

Problem is that DS is a climber, so things that were previously out of reach no longer are.

YANBU. I often want to sit down and cry at the destruction the locusts beautiful DC cause in our house. One of the lowest points for me was finding someone had used my toothbrush as a paintbrush. We gave up on alarm clocks years ago, as they kept getting broken. Any stationary we have is made into books, planes, children's filing systems even when we tried to keep it locked away. (they eventually find the keys)

On a positive note, I bet your DC are very curious, have enquiring minds and are also creative.

YANBU - I could have written that!

But, I am WOHM and DH says at home.

The house is NEVER tidy when I get home. DS has usually destroyed something or done some thing that requires clearing up eg. filling a saucepan with sugar and coffee and putting it under the grill, putting dhs trousers down the loo, emptying all bath products down the plughole, 'making a casserole' that involved getting all the veg he could reach and putting it into a dish, then breaking the glass lid etc etc etc.

I always ask dh 'Where the f*ck were you?'

Anyway, I always manage to go to work with snot or food somewhere on me.

No advice, just sympathy!
