AIBU?

To think my parents should of checked with me before buying DD a trampoline for the garden, 10 ft

Hi, Need some advice to get this into perspective.

Parents always pretty much did or said to people what they want and always seem to get my back up and just wanted to know peoples opinion.

For my DD birthday last week my parents bought her a 10 ft trampoline for the garden, it takes up 80% of the garden now and I can not have my washing line up and ds can not ride his bike.

My dd never asked for one, they took her out once and she played on one at the fair and they thought it would be a nice idea.

Am I being unreasonable to think that they should of asked me first?.

YANBU!

any chance it can be moved to their house for when dd visits?

YANBU they should have checked with you first for definite!

I would be gutted if I have to cover my entire garden up!

Yes, they should have checked first.

Take it down. Take it to their house, like bumpy says!

YANBU - one for their garden I agree.

It's a lovely idea, but it's made the garden unusable. They got carried away. (Wish my MIL would give dd something decent for a present instead of useless soft toys - dd's 9 fgs!). Don't take it to their house, bring it to mine!

YANBU.

However, in the spirit of aibu threads, and having been the victim of some petty grammar/spelling/word make up pedantic bitchery (see what I did there?) I should point out that it's "should have checked with me", not "should of checked with me".

Ah, knew I shouldn't have had that extra glass of wine.

was a lovely idea of them - sure they meant well but understand lack of space is annoying

i would move it to their garden

OhBloodyHell thank you thank you for being the pedant that you are;

should have should have should have

drives me insane!!!! But I am bitter shallow individual, perfect for aibu.

However, yaNbu

And, being a pedant, I've just realised I missed a comma. Dammit!

Thanks for your replies.

Glad it is not just me and Dh feeling this way.

Do not think I will be able to take it back as they set up the suprise when we were out and it was there when I got back and beem used for a day now. (before the weather) box discarded etc etc.

Apparently I have been known to be ungrateful and they just have a nack of making me feel small and a naughty little child again. I know 100% they bought the gift because they knew dd would like it, its not done out of malice, but I wish they had checked.

Its a fold up one, that you have to take the enclosure down, does anyone know its thats easy to do, as if it is I may be able to do thata nd push it far up against a wall so I can use 1 of my washing lines.

yanbu, why did they think this was ok?

i won't let dd have one as my very much younger cousin fell off a trampoline this size hitting her arm on the side and breaking it in three places!! the docs said her arm will never heal properly. they are a death trap!! although before this happened i would have considered getting one.

Blondie how did she fall off? If you have a safety enclosure and shut it behind them when they get on then they can't fall off.

I've had one for 3 years - best 'toy I've ever bought. All 3 have used it almost every day.
