oh it's awful but I have heard my own DH say it on occasion although he also thinks it's awful. I think it's in the same category as parents who call each other mummy and daddy . In fact my FIL calls me mammy - sends a shiver down my spine (not in a good way)

Since the "father to be" is saying it...pen a contract about feeding times, diaper changes and doctor visits. Obviously since "WE" are pregnant then "WE" can do everything else as well.

I HATE it. My MIL took it one step further and said my partners name e.g Johns pregnant, to his brother. Grrr.

We do call each other Mummy and Daddy in front of our daughter since she started calling us by our first names. It feels uncomfortable to call each other Mummy and Daddy but we must.

You don't have to - unless you're saying "give it to Daddy" etc, then she will cope with knowing that you are also "Fred" and "Ginger" or whatever...
