To make money out of the christmas rush?

I'm considering buying a few nintendo wiis and DS's whilst they're still in stock and then selling them on ebay in december.

I know its 'morally wrong' but if people are prepared to pay it, is it wrong to take advantage?

I wouldn't - you may find people can't afford inflated prices this year, and they will just wait.

I don't see anything wrong with it. We all need to make money, you're not stealing or hurting anyone are you?!

If people don't want to pay it they won't but if they feel the need to pay 300% on something because their child must have it then it's their problem.

LOL we have a wii and a wii fit board. We are considering ebaying it nearer to x-mas if people start getting all silly about them like they did last year and buying a new one when all the fuss settles down.

Thanks I wouldn't put it up for anything daft...just the starting price of £180 and if people want to pay more than that then that's their problem, right?

It's not morally wrong, it's capitalism.

But only do it if (a) you are sure that Nintendo won't have upped production after having been caught out last year and (b) you are positive that people will still be willing to buy big-ticket presents this year. Personally I wouldn't bet on either of these, but there's nothing immoral in what you're proposing.

I am left with the dilema of buying the children's Wii now and being skint til the end of the month OR buying it payday in November, cutting it fine me thinks.

what to do?

Bit of a gamble, what if nobody wants them?

it's not morally wrong that's the beauty of capitalism and a free market.but i have a feeling that you are targetting the wrong products and could be left out of pocket.they've been out for a year now and marketted to hell.getting a ds is no problem and the wii is in stock everywhere and loads on e-bay as some people get bored of them very quick so anyone with any foresight will be getting theirs now to have under the tree.

Oh is there gonna be a mad rush for ds' too?
I wonder if dd would mind ebaying hers and she can buy a new one later?

Can you tell I'm skint? lol. Of course I wouldn't really ebay dd1's ds. Unless of course she wanted to but any money she made on it would be hers.

I don't think it's immoral but I'm not so sure people will go mad this year.

Have bought ds's PS3 for Christmas already - wanted to avoid the price hype and unavailability that strikes near Christmas.

Nintendo don't get 'caught out'. Nintendo have a very savvy marketing strategy

Err, they sold out last year when they were still new, I doubt people will be falling over themselves to get them this year. Anyway Nintendo did it on purpose to increase demand, they won't bother this year.
