Agree. And I also hate the idea that Sainsbo thinks it has not already occured to the shopping public that own brand is a cheaper alternative. Really p**s me off!
It is irritating isn't it? Look at her expanding her horizons

I feel the same about louby lou on Andy Pandy. Not setting a great example for my dds. But then it did occur to me that frankly women don't seem to be able to have it all. My career has all but died and I spend my time doing the cleaning and cooking and washing and doing everything for the family. So maybe these are just realistic representations of the options available.
Sorry, feeling a bit cynical today...

Isn't she meant to portray a single mother? She's so 'cheap and cheerful', smilie-smilie.
It is irritating that they use well-known actors as characters in these adverts and then portray them as 'real' people. The advert-makers must know we've all seen her in something else. So how can the advert work if all it does is make you feel cynical?
The supermarkets have all incorporated green messages into their adverts and now it's also about thriftiness as well. Looking at the markets, we're going to be hearing a lot about this. Sales of baked beans and mince are going up. It will be interesting to see if M&S change their 'not just...' food ads.

shipscat - your first line had me worried for a bit that i had done something to upset you!!!
I agree tho, male/female stereotyping in kids programs is still pretty dire, even some of the more modern ones, and there are way too many patronising ads on TV
cillit bang is my least fave one, shame my 3yo keeps saying bang and the dirt is gone

I think you get to an age when all adverts seem completely and irritatingly patronising. This must be because I am older than the young 'creatives' who devise them. And older than all the policemen I (don't) see.
Anyway, I must go and wash my clothes in 'white diamond and lotus-flower' washing detergent. Then my life will be complete.
Loobey, you have a point, Bob the builder would be nothing with out Wendy.
Can't stand the Sainsbo adverts. If they were going to make completely patronising adverts they could at least have got an unknown actress, not one from Corrie.

DP finds this ad hilarious. He always shouts at the Tv 'and I used to be a brain surgeon!'
TheShipsCat - I asked asked that too. I sniffed my engagement ring - nothing! May as wel just be lotus flower then.

Apparently, it smells of 'the essence of elegance'. I'm not sure if that's the diamond or the Lotus Flower though.
I thought the bloke in Sainsbo advert was her brother. I'm sure she refers to him as her brother at the end.
Hate those ads. Love the fact that she has to do that 'feed your family for a fiver' thing because she earns fuck all working for Sainsbury's.
Plus the look she gives her mother as mother takes the last muffin is one of pure hatred. Maybe she put rat poison in the cream cheese?
