I parked the car,I was in a rush and my dd2 had opened her bowels.I changed her first in the boot. Traffic warden came past mid wipe and asked me to put a ticket on before I finished changing her!
I said 'no worries, you finish up here and I'll pop a ticket on'
I went to hand him the dirty wipe (mockingly)
and he put his hand out briefly before realising.
Apparently this was not funny and he will be watching out for my car in future pmsl.

I then went to the bank.
Dh had removed the photo driving license out of my purse and I had gone in specifically to open the dc accounts. I was not informed on the letter that I would need it and they accepted the opening deposits without question lol.
The bank would not accept my birth certificate, marriage certificate, letter with address on or the fact that I have EIGHT pissing accounts active with them at present.

Feeling as though my day was wasted,I went back to the car. The weather had really perked up and it was sunny and quite warm for a change.
Opened the car and the smell hit me hard- I had, in my friendly banter traffic warden episode/rush, neglected to put the soiled nappy in a nappy bag and the heat had made it vom inducing.
Okay, that's fine, I'll drive the 12 miles home with the sunroof and windows open...cue torrential rain.

sigh

Soooo, am I being unreasonable to a) think ticket persons should not threaten to be watching out for someones car in particular, b)think the bank should accept my autheticity on production of several pieces of original identification and c) the weather should have the decency to make up its mind as to what season we are fgs

YANBU. Yesterday was that kind of day frankly. At least it's now Tuesday and we can all relax.

mayorquimby - nope, no photo on any of my id BUT I was sent a letter and confirmed on the telephone that I would only require my childrens birth certificates to open the accounts.
It was due to my bringing the entire certicifate/license file (smug organised/anal emoticon) that I had my marriage and birth certificates with me plus the childrens father's birth certificate and a cabbage patch doll adoption certificate (Anneka Wilhelmina 12/07/1997 if you must know)
junkcollector - I just got back from the hospital and the gardens round the house have flooded within a matter of hours. We have a septic tank...it has of course overflowed. Wednesday just HAS to be better surely.
nickytwotimes- 'I don't beeeliieve it!'

YANBU at all. The ID thing is annoying me at the moment. We are trying to get our Endowment cheque from Prudential. They have written to us saying that they need photogrphic ID plus a bill, for me, not DH, then go on to say that they take the safety of our money very seriously and under guidlines and requirments form the FSA(or similar) they are required to have id of all parties to the contract - DH and myself. So why only my ID? They won't accept birth or marriage certificates, they won't accept a letter form ym GP or Bank or Solicitor. They want photographic ID - so they can tell its me. how are they going to tell? Do they ahve one to compare it with? if so, how have they got it.
I don't ahve photographic iD - well I do, but its a Forces dependant card and I'm not allowed to send it through the post

Sorry, rant over, just got annoyed becasue, correct me if I'm wrong, but we are not required by law to have photgraphic ID are we?

ermmm, birth and marriage certificates aren't proof of who you are just the record of an event. Also, not that difficult for other people to get copies of these certificates which is why most banks won't take them as ID.

Although, if you just wanted to open accounts for your dc and you already have accounts then they should have just asked you ID questions to verify who you are and accepted your dcs birth certs. Think they're being a bit over the top. Or you had the misfortune to deal with a muppet!
