AIBU?

To be annoyed that my daughter was given cake and sweets in a party bag?

Last week dd went to a party and when she came home she had the usual party bag. However, on close inspection i noticed that a piece of cake and some sweets had also been put in it.

I of course removed the offending items, but i am annoyed that the host of the party gave them to her in the first place. I always give strict instructions that she is not allowed any kind of junk food when going to parties.

Ibu?

Wouldn't it be easier just to ban her from going to parties?

did you ask parents NOT to put sweets cake in?, if so maybe they forgot in rush of party or she may have got someone elses bag?, if theres a medical reason id be annoyed too if id already specifically mentioned it, but not much can be done, they prob simply forgot?

I think YABU. Sorry, but a party bag containing organic rice cakes and water probably wouldn't be greeted with much enthusuiasm by anyone.

You'll have to try harder than that... mildly funny but not putting my pelvic floor in any danger.

YANBU. Outrageous behaviour. I put dried lentils, some straw and a cube of 2 x 2 wood so they could make their own building block in our party bags and they were all bloody grateful. Oh yes and we made the party bags ourselves by recycling newspaper and making our own paper and then turning them into bags using glue that has no hooves.

oh I agree

no sweets in party bags, it is the slippery slope to obesity

nothing wrong with a wooden stick and some frozen peas imo

children these days are spoilt

What did you expect, a satsuma and some nuts? organic of course!

did you by any chance want everyone to wear the same colour at your wedding and get upset when your relatives wouldn't have cosmetic surgery to look good in your wedding photos?

I would report the host to social services if I where you. I mean, if she does this in public to other people's children imagine what goes on behind closed doors!

What is she feeds her children triffle and cola bottles?!?!?

It doesn't bare thinking about tbh.

Frozen pease, lolly stick and water bottles. What fabulous idea for next year. I could just do tap water in a plastic bag like a goldfish and that would be even cheaper. Filtered, of course, through some expensive piece of crap.
