Why is it that a word used by someone from a different..part of the country, upbringing , culture , education or decade offends so many people? Why do we all make such a big deal about not liking a word that someone has used to describe something?
What ever happened to sticks and stones????????

Not a particular word, but some words. Over the last couple of months I have so often read on MN that ,that is an offensive word now, and you shouldn't use it!! surely it's only offensive if you choose to take offense?
You joke about Bum ,poo and wee-wee , which are words that in my house are REALY FUNNY, because I live with 4 boys, but I have in the past been told that I shouldn't let my kids say them!!

Aaaarrrrrssssseeeee

DD1 told me she had a pain in her bumcrack the other day. I don't really want her telling them that at pre-school. But that's because I want them to get the impression that we don't talk about bumcracks all the day long.

Don't see why I should have a problem with liar. That's quite cut and dried isn't it? If you lie, you are a liar. Unlike stupid which is much more subjective.

Gusset sniffer. Now that's offensive.

Well, the most recent example being 'epi'.
