To be logging on to my usual fertility/mums sites and getting condolence msgs (very nice and I DO appreciate) from women who add their gestation time at the bottom of each msg????? IE....

"am so sorry for your loss Laura"

Sorry - didnt explain too well. My friend had a mc and posted it on a forum we both regularly use. I love the forum but it is something i've noticed before with other people. I myself have had 4 mc and have noticed it each time I posted but was too to bring it up

I add my dates if it's relevant to the post I'm making, but most of the time I don't - and definitely not in MC threads.

YANBU but sometimes people just don't think about these things

The only other parenting forum I have been on has 'tickers' which come up automatically but you are supposed to disable them for certain sensitive topics. IIRC most people remember to and if they don't they apologise and get the message deleted.

Don't go there now though - MN is far better.

yes it is insensitive my dh was married before and i have a picture of our sons as a tag- on mails to people his ex wife also knows i remove the tag purely because i think its insensitive, maybe she should point it out in a nice way??

god no - that is as crass as you can get. Plus those tickers are just plain odd - remember breathing a huge sigh of relief when I found mumsnet and realised amongst other things it was ticker free.
