being the most bullied person in the UK?

Barbara Ellen has got it just right here IMO.

Yes, I find her thorougly disagreeable as well - there is just something about her and I know she does herself no favours but the way she is persecuted in the press just reminds me of nothing more than school bullying by a gaggle of really spiteful girls.....I think we probably all knew some. The advice I was given when I didnt like someone was "just ignore them".

...totally agree with you. And I am getting mightily fed up with the golden brushing (as opposed to tar brushing) of PMCC. Just because he was a Beatle once and is vastly famous does not make him into a golden boy who cannot do wrong. I think HMCC's treatment in the press is directly and inversely related to the level of PaulM worship going on out there.

Not read the article, but I do think it's gone a bit far now. What that woman needs imo is a lot less publicity, not more. I like to ignore bad behaviour in children and adults alike, and that includes talking about them incessantly. Even if she were the wickedest woman int he world - and bear in mind she hasn't actually murdered anyone - she has a school age child who will be taking flak.

Silly jokes about gold diggers are allowed, obv

We have a tradition in this country of reviling the women folk of famous well-liked men - cf Victoria Beckham, Alex Best, CAmilla, Fergie, Yoko Ono, Jerry Hall etc (bad examples actually. ) I remember plenty of snide remarks about Linda too, it's only since her death we've laid off her. The only exception to this is Princess Di, and it's not like she didn't come in for some criticism.

Heather Mills: money grabber, not Myra Hindley.

I agree too. I am amazed that anyone would think the way she has been treated by the press is fair or reasonable. So many times have I read people saying they hate her, yet all they really know about her is from crap newspapers.

Agree. It's nasty.

On another thread it was proposed that McCartney be known henceforth as
The Blessed Paul, since he is in line for beatification.

If Prince William gets married to Kate Whatserface we will all turn on her too. By 'we' I mean the press and much of the public, not we sensibly sorts on this thread.

If Elton were straight, we'd hate his missus.

I recon they're more likely to turn on Harry's girlfriend. In many ways they already have.

Oh I cant stand him! - Not that I want this to turn into a Paul McCartney or Paul McC*ntney, as DH calls him bashing thread - but Barbara Ellen also wrote a really good article about there is no one so cold as a man who has fallen out of love with his wife in that he can justify the most horrendous treatment of her. I think PM just threw her to the wolves when she is already vulnerable and unliked just to protect his money. I believe in karma and I think he has a big drop coming his way.

I have seen what divorce did to my dad. He was very unpleasant behind the scenes and legally but on the surface was a martyr and an innocent. This is why I refuse to see all this as all Heather Mill's fault. It takes 2 and it's totally unfair to completely blame her.

I agree. Its odd how the media always slate the woman isnt it? Personally I dont read papers or buy womens gossip magazines that peddle this crap. Ooh look so and so has a spot (titter titter) and look at her over there with the cellulite. All part of the same bull meant to keep women in their neat little compartments. I dont know much about the situation other than there must be more to it than we know. As beaniesteve says it takes 2.

I think you'll find it was the court who found her less than truthful. The press are merely reporting the court judgment under qualified privilege. She has is a master manipulator incapable of being bullied, I feel.

heather is mendacious and manipulative. oh diddums poor heather, eking and scraping a living on a paltry divorce. Pah!

Its not just the settlement news I am talking about Swedes. Today in the NofTW they ran a story about the first face to face meeting since the judgement accompanied by a link that said "SEE PICS FROM MUCCAS PORN PAST HERE". How is that neccessary or relevant?

BTW I read all the papers on line just in case anyone was thinking that I am a big NofTW fan (ahem....).

Not a fan of Paul but Heather only has herself to blame for a lot of the publicity.

The court document was put on the BBC site, long but very interesting read. Seems she lied about quite a few things from her "charity giving" to her "job offers" etc.

Now she plans to get round the judges gagging order by using her sister to do it - nice woman.

Its her daughter I feel for, when shes older and sees the GMTV rant and the court documents etc who know what it will do to her.

beaniesteve · 23/03/2008 17:07

But in the mean time the judge and Paul McCartney both made it clear she is a good mother!

Report
HappyMummyOfOne · 23/03/2008 17:12

I dont think anybody has said she isnt a good mother - i was talking about her daughter seeing the split and lies told when shes older. Heather could have been more dignified and handled the whole situation much better - she courted the press and now its appears to be her enemy.

I think she has a narcissistic personality disorder, and her treatment by the press has sent her completely over the edge. She doesn't seem likeable, but the press coverage has been despicable.

I don't think the press attitude is so much against women who bag national heroes, more about women who don't fit the mould and toe the line - Heather McC, Cherie Blair, Anne Widdecombe - all vilified.

Not so sure about the good mother bit when she's flying in first class and her daughter is with a nanny in the rear or the plane.

heather is a total bampot, who thought she was so clever and didn't need lawyers, her Ally McBeal legal soliloquies would suffice

This woman is her own worst enemy. She keeps providing the papers with all the amunition they need. If she has anyone advising her (and lets face it she can afford it) they should be advising her to keep her mouth shut. For her sake and her daughter's. Every time she says something she seems to put her foot further in it and ends up looking worse. Unfortunately the press will always dig the dirt on celebrities but lets face it shes well paid for it. She has got a huge amount of money for not doing very much. We will never know what went on in her marriage but she should have learned by now that trying to dish the dirt on Paul Mccartney, true or otherwise, has done her no favours so far and she would be best served by shutting up.

People who bully should be put in their target's shoes for a while.

I'm sure they wouldn't find it amusing then.
