in wanting to decorate?

i think the lounge, hallway and main bedroom needs freshening up a bit. dh does not. says not worth it until dd3 is out of her 'scribbling' stage.

hasnt been touched since we moved in 3yrs+ ago.

its only painting, no wallpapering etc.

i really want to decorate the main bedroom so so much.

I've got this urge at the moment too misdee. I want to do both the boys' bedrooms and the kitchen looks tired.

I sort of see his point though mumofjandp - I painted DS3 and DS4's room just over two years ago, a pale primrose creamy yellow, looked lovely until DS3 dragged a blue painted chair scraping the length of on eentire wall. There are also scuff marks on the wall where the changing unit used to be.

Need o make new curtains aswell, floral not a good look in a boys' room.

i like the colours we currently have, they work very well, but it just looks a bit well 'tired' really.

if i squint then the place looks lovely.

where the table is in the living room i can see where dd3 has wiped her porriagey hands and i didnt notice and now its set like cement.

i should wait until she is at school really.

Have you tried giving the walls a proper scrub and wash? It can make a HUGE difference

last time i did that the paint came off lol.

will give it a go in the hallway where most of the grubby hand marks are.

i will paint the doors though. or replace them in the summer.

If a girl wants to paint then paint she should!

I would recommend trying to disolve the porridge though - otherwise you will have lumpy bits under your nice new paint.

he probably cant be arsed doing it himself. so if you promise to do all the work yourself im sure he'll be dlighted

paint doesnt cost myuch so he has no real right to object

I think sometimes that bits of the house need decorating and then I sit down and wait until the urge goes away.

naily, all he has to do is hold the paintbrush above his head so i cant reach it.

misdee i was sick of my wooden fireplace so i painted it white the other day

dh had objected for ages but i waited til he was out

what you could do is 'spill' some paint 'accidentally' on the walls

i could accidently let dd3 loose and put some handprints on the walls in the paint colour i want....

dh is well, very well. he has an appointent next week about his memory loss problems, but is generally ok now

i plan on painting the bathroom so badly that DH won't trust me with the rest of the house and feel forced to do it himself
