Time to drop big hints for Mother's Day I think...(is it likely that he has got something for you "hidden away"?)

I'm all lost and confused. Aren't you supposed to buy the presents before the wedding?

Report
glucose · 23/02/2008 20:52

You can probably make a bit on ebay by just selling the little green bag on its own.

Why's he buying them presents??????

You're married to a man who can go to Tiffany's, with no prior fuss / announcements / woe is me nonsense, and choose, by himself, gifts including a beautiful gorgeous outfit for a woman of the opposite sex.... ???!!!!

I'd marry him myself.

Oh I LOVE those bags and boxes, they are sooo nice. For Christmas we did secret santa because there was so many of us and i went to Tiffany and bought a keyring for my sil. I got a crappy cardigan and scarf

lol, i dont think so..
no, the tiffany's was my suggestion. he kept wanting to buy them the sari. i suggested that as these people are business acquaintances/old old family friends, a sari would be too personal, plus, waaaay out of our budget. we normally never give mor than a fifty quid present , unless family.
i suggested we either get them some nice crystal, or a braclet from tiffanys. if we bought online, it would mean less fuss. or we should just have given cash on the day.
but dh likes doing things the difficult way. he didnt like any of the jewellry in tiffany's. the stuff he could afford was bling enough or something. and the sari.... god knows, he has his own idea of where to gt them from. doesnt seem to understand that even though tht work might be beautiful, it is possible that to people in the know, it is not just last season, but three seasons old.
hmmpph. i have been hinting and hinting and hinting, tillmy skin looks th same colour as a tiffany's bag.

I found Tiffanys really rude when i went for my wedding ring...wandered down the road to Aspreys where we were offered a leather seat each and a cup of coffee - even though we said we were not spending a fortune. The bloke said it didnt matter it was an important occasion. Far more stylish i thought.

Although the little blue bags and white ribbons from Tiffany are gorgeous

pistachio, at least you got the other two rings. all i have is the really really old fashioned 22 carat wedding ring mil slipped on my finger wehn we go tmarried. (muslim asian wedding, i'm lucky it looks like a wedding ring!)
wehn i had ds1 there was no question of tiffany's. and with subsequetn kids, i was too naive to insist. if i thought i might get an eternity ring i might even have another sprog. pigs might fly.

Salaam Pukka - its all about image! Your DH wants to show off to them I think! lol

The women in DH's family (Syria) have serious rocks and blingage for having sproglets too....

Time for the nagging to start methinks!!

No I don't....I'm quite sensible really and couldn't justify that much on a pair of shoes....and its not as if I do the lottery is it! lol!!

I do want a Gucci watch though and Prada sunglasses...because....my reasoning is that now I wear hejab most of the time (don't wear it to work- yet!), my accessories must speak for themselves (I'm shallow!)...so I need more blingage - especially before we go to Syria as the blingage does speak volumes over there...sadly....

Do you get that 'look' from the other female relatives when they haven't seen you for a while? Its a very quick flick up and down but it takes EVERYTHING in and notices every pound gained and every cheapo ring/watch you are wearing!!!
