AIBU?

to be v pissed off with my neighbour and to want to leave a note on his car?

OK, I'm driving up my road and pass the last space and as I go to the top of the road to turn round I can see that a neighbour who lives on the street at the bottom of the road has raced up behind me and parked in the space - now I know that he knew I was turning around to come back and park because everyone (him included) turns around at the top of the road as you can then get out of the road easily (its a culdesac road). As I was waiting at the top of the road for him to come up he bloody well nicked my spot.

Normally this wouldn't bother me and I'd be happy to park elsewhere, but DD is poorly and the nearest other permit parking is 5 mins walk away. He can't park on his road all day as there are restrictions.

Now, I have written a note to put on his car saying that I thought it was a really unneighbourly thing to do but DH doesn't want me to do it as he thinks it would cause a neighbourhood war! The other alternative is to put dog poo under his car handle so he gets poo on his fingers in the morning.

He knew he was in the wrong as when I drove past him he wouldn't look at me, and when I came back from the other parking he was no where to be seen so must have literally run home before I came back. I was so gobsmacked when he did it I didn't think straight as with hindsight I should have just stopped by his car and told him he was being mean!

So, AIBU and should I stick the note on his car?

no, don't stick a note on his car. That could cause problems. You never know, maybe he had a very good reason for wanting to park close to his house.

I would let it go.

I can fully understand why you are annoyed, but unfortunately he wouldn't have known that your dd is poorly. Yes he was cheeky, but he got into the space without having turn around. I think that the note or other "retaliation" is a bit out of order I'm afraid.

I'd feel slightly differently if you wre actually indicating and starting to manoeuvre into the space.

ah what goes around comes around, and one day, when it is dire wet weather, you may just be able to get him back......

console yourself with that, revenge is sweeter when unplanned and something not evil and mean straight away.

do like the dog pooh idea tho,
