LOL

I think to move, with all the expense that involves, to get another loo is crazy but just the sort of thing I would want to do too!

Can you get one in under the stairs. Thats what we did. Its great. I send DH to the downstairs loo for his daily morning you know what. I dont want to smell it whilst I brush my teeth!

WE moved to a bigger house nearly two years ago and, whilst the utility room has made a huge difference, we hardly use the 2nd loo - I wish we had 2 baths or two showers, rather than two loos to be honest.

yeah move to a new house with family bathroom, en suite in master room, downstairs loo and a utility thats what we need! we cant get one understairs not enough room and cost fortune to move electrics apparently and DH wrote that idea off quicker than he moving one, bless him!.

what about kitchen extension with extra loo and utility room? Or loft extension with en suite? All much cheaper than moving. Or am I stating the obvious? Might be worth getting someone round anyhow just to have a look - there may be potential where you hadn't thought of IYSWIM.

Yanbu, for your solution to the second loo is here and for less than £100.

Cant help you with utility room, though.

YANBU. Its a great expense but makes life so much easier. I also dream about having a second loo and a utilty room.

dont get me wrong we have plenty of room to extend sideways or to loft but we was advised that come the time we sell it'll be of no benefit as the house if at its roof value for the area and that 4 bed semi are not as popular as the trad 3 bed. by extending we would just about break even what we spent on doing it all and also we have done so much this house already it fills me with dread having to do something major with an 18 month old. sorry for babbling got to have a dream haven't you!

I have four loos. Cleaning and remembering to stock with toilet roll is a real pain. I think two would be sufficient.

I'd love detached - no neighbours!! Anyone else feel like me?

Yeah I had that illusion too when we moved to a brand new house. Maybe if I lived by myself. There is still toys everywhere and dishes in the sink and the utility room is where the ironing is now touching the ceiling.

Not worried about mess at all just don't want neighbours!!

Same as yogimum. We moved from a 3 bed terrace with one bathroom with toilet (in same room) to a 4 bed townhouse on 4 floors with 3 full bathrooms and a cloakroom. We also gained a play room a utility room and a study for not a lot more cost wise. Tonnes more cleaning but more than happy to do it. Tis a year this weekend since we moved and I still wake up with a smile on my face in the morning

I disagree, with all this extra space keeping things clean and tidy is so much easier. You can't keep on top of things if you simply don't have places to put stuff.

Report
yogimum · 06/01/2008 20:34

now I would like a playroom.

That was the selling factor when I saw this house. Plus it is on a separate floor with the utiliy room (and door into garage) so it can be as untidy as possible as guests (adult ones) never venture down there

I agree with ComeOVeneer . I find it impossible keeping my tiny house tidy, we have no storage at all. We barely have room to keep the basics and have to shop everyday as no where to bulk buy food shopping.

I fear it will finally explode with DS's Xmas toys.

this is it you see bigger house more storage etc, ironing room new play room for ds. not necessary for him to play in on own but to chuck everything in at end of night and then plonk down on sofa with glass of vino looking out french doors into the garden. trying to decide which bathroom to have a bath in! sounds great! one bathroom with bath toys in and one strictly no kids with all the clairins in! then when in laws stop they have own bathroom so they are completely tucked out of my way!
