AIBU?

To think 7.45am is too early to ring someone's doorbell (even if you are delivering a package)

I think it is but couriers keep doing it when delivering packages....I think 7.45 is fine for posting something through the letterbox but I wouldn't ring someone up at this time of the morning, he woke my ds up....

What time does your postman come? ours ring any time after 7 am, I would think it was standard practice...

YABU.

Most children areawake by then

It is better to get a package delivered when you are likely to be home (ie earlier in the day) than later in the day when most people are likely to be out! In which case, you have to rearrange delivery, then stay in again.

I would love for my deliveries to come at 7.45...

I once had a knock at 6.45am. The guy was very apologetic as he thought it would take him a lot longer to get to me than it did.
I didn't mind tho as he was delivering a case of wine

no, i don't think 7.45 is too early, espeically if deliverer was apologetic.
better than being taken back to depot and you having to collect it!

We had the police ring our doorbell at 6.30 on Saturday morning to ask if we'd heard a disturbance that had happened next door at midday the day before ....... then just got back to bed and fell asleep when the door when again and it was the head-case neighbour asking to use our phone. DH non too politely told her were to go.

Of course YABU!

My postie only rings the bell if the door is locked

Otherwise he just opens door, plonks parcel down and wanders off. He's ace. He wears shorts and a cowboy hat to delivery his post

We once had a delivery at 11.15pm! The estimated delivery time had been 12noon-4pm .

YABU. At 7.45 most people are awake by then during the week.

Our old postie in Scotland used to soemtimes deliver parcels as early as 6.45, but he told me once he knew that I was up early because I CM'd, and if he saw the curtains shut he would leave it in the double buggy in the porch. he was great though, I miss getting my post at a reasonable time of day

Unfortunately the actual regular post comes any time between 10am and 3pm so is cr*p

put a sign on the door then. your parcels will of course be taken back to the depot but you can collect them whenever you like.

I thought this was fairly standard? tbh I'd just be chuffed to get any post before lunchtime.

YABU, any time after 7 am is fair IMO. At least they know you will be in. And lucky you your ds was still asleep at 7.45

7.45 is not too early

6.30 is too early

7 is not great but ok

But I can understand that if your DS is very young or you have trouble keeping/getting him to sleep, then an unexpected doorbell ring at the door while he is still sleeping would be annoying.

YABU, we dont get post until 11am most days. And some people may be waiting for post/packages before work, I think 7.45 is a great time.

And what the hell are you still doing in bed at that time with kids

YABU 7.45am with kids is not early!!! Plus they are just doing a job, they dont pick their start times, just go on popular demand.

Is the OP for real???????????????????

I had a pram delivered by 8am once and was most pleased. I didn't have to wait in and could use my new pram straight away.

YANBU they are all just jealous that your ds was still asleep. I'd have been cross to be roisted out of bed for a package.
