To not want to do a pregnancy test.............

When my husband and I wanted a baby, I fell pregnant straight away but then lost it as it was ectopic. I then had another ectopic pregnancy and finally 2 miscarriages.

Thankfully after that, I had a beautiful baby girl who is 1 year old. My pregnancy was awful as I believed I would lose her and found it hard to believe I would ever have her. I worried all day every day.

My period is late and I have had some spotting and think I might be pregnant. I don't want to test and know for definate as I don't want to worry like I did with my daughter...............

Help!!

Just look at your beautiful daughter and remind yourself that it can work out! Good luck. xx

Do a test - you're going to worry anyway & at least if you test you'll know.

Like someone else says - you have a beautiful daughter so you know that it can work out.

Good luck.

happytobemam - please test. You know you have to. You know the risks of an ectopic.

I'm really hoping it works out for you - buut if it doesn't, then you have to know as soon as possible.

Thanks Everyone,

I know in reality I have to test, I know all too well that there is still a possibility of another ectopic pregnancy and I fully understand the risks of what can happen (my second ectopic pregnancy ruptured and I was unconsious by the time I was in surgery). I also do know that it can work out and that's what I hope for.

What worries me is that after four losses I got very stressed out about getting pregnant and was a nightmare during the pregnancy. Because I'm spotting at the moment I guess I can still make myself think that it might just be a very late period, I'm scared to find out that I'm pregnant and then have it taken away again!

Arghh, guess I know what I need to do!!

you need to test and you know that. how late is your period?

Hi Lissie,

You're right, I do know I need to test,

My period is 4 days late, and it's never late.

I started spotting on the day my period was due and I'm still spotting, only a very small amount. I spotted with all of my pregnancy losses, but I also spotted around 4 and 6 weeks when I had my daughter!

how are you?

Thanks for asking Lissie,

I did a pregnancy test yesterday and I am indeed pregnant, the test went positive instantly. That's great news if everything is ok, I just have the awful wait of about 3 weeks to find out if it's in the right place again!!!!

Oh, let the worry begin!!!!

xx

im so pleased for you and getting a good strong bfp straight away early on is a good sign.

Congratulations - can't spotting be a sign of the fertilised egg attaching itself to the uterus wall? Or something like that??!! Anyway, it can be a good sign.

Thanks everyone for your support. I'm still spotting, but I think I'm actually a bit calmer about it all than I thought I might be! I'm only about 5 weeks so I will contact the doctor in a week or so (if nothing drastic happens before then) for an early scan

Congratulations Happytobemam

I hope things go well for you with this PG. I've had two MCs so know how fraught it can be.

There is a FAB support thread on here which got me through the early months. It's good to talk things through with others who are going through it.

I still dip in to that thread every now again (My DD is mow 13 weeks), so maybe I'll meet you on there.
