dd1 is 13 and they all wear it, caked on like pan stick.

most of them don't even have spots

I wore foundation when I was 15.

It was a lovely shade of orange, and stopped in a line around my jaw.

If you're pale, spot- ridden and lacking in self confidence, then yes, you do. I did.

I would have thought that spotty 15 year olds have every reason to...

I worn it at 15 until i was about 23 years. I stopped wearing makeup 2 years ago and my skin is loads better. I think if girls are wearing makeup they need to be educated in a good skin routine, it works wonders.

I needed to wear foundation at 15 but couldn't arsed. Skin is now fine and still don't wear foundation. The benefits of laziness

Oh god I had awful skin at that age and felt terrible about it. Foundation was one thing I could use to make me feel a little bit more confident. Envied my friends with peachy skin so much...

If it's the right shade, doesn't look like pan stick, why not? I was wearing lurid pale blue eyeshadow at 13. Very fashionable at the time but my eyes are brown. My friends and I used to sneak make-up to school & put it on before class.

sauce - at dp's school (he's a teacher, not a student) the girls think nothing of putting on their make-up during class

Really?! Well, I was 13 about 30 yrs ago... still, I'm dreading dd's adolescence.

hmm.. foundation or visible bright red zits?

I'd rather go with foundation, and infact did when i was 15.

So, yes, YABU.

I should add that i stopped wearing it when i got to 20, lol, i only wear powder now.

At that age its like catch 22, you know its not helping the zits to wear it, but if you don't wear it, you look like crud.

I started wearing it when I was twenty something, no need for it... until I had some new lights installed above the mirror.

I did and I still do.

I had spotty teenage skin and it helped my skin AND my confidence. My mother taught me how to put it on properly and the whole skincare routine bit. I found, and still do, that foundation helps to protect my skin from the elements and if I wear it I keep my hands off it. If I have a few days without foundation I break out.
And no, you can't tell I am wearing it - a friend of mine was shocked the other week when she discovered I wear it every day ... we have known eachother for 4 years and she had no idea

I hardly ever did as a teen and hardly ever do now but am very low maintenance type! I have also been very lucky to always have good skin and didnt suffer from spots at all as a teenager despite a diet of chips and chocolate Most of the girls in my school wore make up from 14 of 15 though.

I must be so lazy I have never worn it and very rarely wear any make up, I do have very sensitive skin so that is part of the reason I dont wear it but I do use a very good (and very expensive)face and skin cream and have good skin, never been spotty unless I use makeup
my eldest daughter who is 16 wears the full works and looks lovely

I've never worn it

I don't know how to put it on

when everyone was going loopy over Vitalumiere I went to try some and it was really weird, such a strange feeling to have stuff sitting there all over your face

i tried it but felt like my skin was suffocating at the age. i know stick to tinted moisteriser if i am going out. but dont wear heavy foundation at all.

NomDePlume · 27/05/2007 10:24

I did.

I used it to 'cover' spots, it took me about 2 years to realise that actually the make up was making the spots ten times worse and when I stopped wearing it about 75% of the problem cleared up

Report
NomDePlume · 27/05/2007 10:27

I don't wear it nowadays though, unless I'm going out of an evening.

If a 15 year old has bad skin, she needs to see a dermatologist and get it sorted by learning about a good skin care routine and perhaps taking some medication.

Foundation on teenagers looks awful... actually, foundation looks pretty awful on anyone IMO until they start getting old and blotchy.
