Yes, this entire section was set up so that OPs can get validation from total strangers. That somehow justifies what they do because they are too insecure just to think, 'Well, who fucking cares? I don't feel unreasonable, so stuff it.'

Soz - had to blow nose !!

No YANBU - Mumsnet is for all to exprsee their opinions !!

If people want to launch their own little campaogn good for them - even if some of us think that angle is already being covered - but they should not tell people to get off their thread - as it is not their thread - it a thread for all of us !!

i think !

I'm going out. I don't want to be disturbed.

Therefore, I will either turn off my phone or not answer it when it is ringing.

YABU. You must agree with everyone. Until someone disagrees. And then you must all pile in with why actually you do disagree, not agree as previously stated.

It's so rude, too, when people phone you up and then get another call and say, 'Oh, sorry, I have to put you on hold.'

I always ring off on them.

i got an email with the poster on it today from someone i work with... felt a bit creepy actually. which is dense, i know. but just because it says it's originated from the hospital where her parents work doesn't mean it has, and of course it refers to her as 'Maddy'. i've not forwarded it on, just because i hate doing that sort of thing. but am i wrong? feel free to disagree with me...

no it's not wrong to disagree but I do think it's a bit petty to go on to a thread and say you disagree just because you can, even if you don't have a reason to disagree iyswim.

I think all points are valid, as I also pointed out on that thread, and I do think that some things on that thread eg, people suggesting going on to unquestionable sites to see if pictures are there are very unwise and even disturbing, but on the whole I don't see anything wrong with circulating a poster, as long as it's done properly, eg with knowledge of the family and in accordance with international law (a point I also made on that thread).

can I ask why you disagree with it though?

I didn't disagree with the sentiment - I just felt that it was a bit sort of "me me me - I can sort this out even though the rubbish police can't" iyswim.

Personally I think Interpol/Europol etc have already got this angle covered !

Also I have to say the whole thread annoyed nme as Madeleine's whole name was spelt wrongly in the title - lost credibility for me as soon as I saw it.

wannaBeWhateverIWannaBe · 11/05/2007 12:56

I won't kill you. se the thing is, there are so many reasons why it isn't wrong, that if you can't say why it is, then that invalidates your argument to many.

Yes, yabu because you are becoming a professional disagreer

So it goes, thread going swimmingly, everything progressing well and WHAM here comes one of the professional disagreers. Thread goes belly up, PDas find another thread going swimmingly so move onto that one and the thread returns to normality.
