A bit of a random one, but I'm sure someone here will know. I'm having a clear-out of old sun lotions etc, all way past their best. What's the best way to dispose of them? I want to be able to put the bottles in recycling and tipping the contents down the sink doesn't feel particularly eco-friendly. Thanks!

Is it just me, or is this tragic?! She really needs more to worry about IMO!

Not tragic at all, perfectly reasonable question. (What is the best way, does anyone know?)

Bubblebathwater · 20/01/2017 22:11

I don't get why it's tragic, what's tragic about wanting to be eco friendly about the way you dispose of stuff Confused

FuckOffDailyMailQuitQuotingMN · 20/01/2017 22:11

Give them to the chemist to dispose of?

I bin them as I didn't realise the bottles were recyclable.

DMnamechanger · 20/01/2017 22:11

Sounds like the sort of thing I might ask.

I guess we wouldn't get along, OP.

megletthesecond · 20/01/2017 22:11

I'd put the lotions in the bin and then I could recycle the bottles. I wouldn't put the contents of the bottles down the sink either.

FourEyesGood · 20/01/2017 22:12

Not a weird question at all! There are far more peculiar - and mundane - questions all the time.
I would squeeze them out into a bin, then recycle the bottles.

FuckOffDailyMailQuitQuotingMN · 20/01/2017 22:12

I don't think it's tragic. I'm glad when people try to be responsible citizens, even if they are misguided in their effforts.

I wouldn't know if this is misguided or not.

mambono5 · 20/01/2017 22:12

It's just you.

Just because we can put all sort of sort of crap down our sinks and toilets doesn't mean we should. I don't know the answer, but it's a good question.

DMnamechanger · 20/01/2017 22:12

Do you not need more to worry about than what other people are worrying about? Confused

QueenMortificado · 20/01/2017 22:13

What's more tragic? Starting a post on FB asking a question or starting a thread on MN about someone who asked a question on FB?

Hmmmmmmm. You lose OP. Confused

ProudBadMum · 20/01/2017 22:14

It's tragic you look at mum pages imo Grin

londonrach · 20/01/2017 22:16

Good question. What do you do with old sunscreen?

phoenixnix · 20/01/2017 22:16

Her question was reasonable. You starting a thread about it is more tragic I'm afraid.

BingBongBingBong · 20/01/2017 22:18

I don't think it's that weird or odd a question

Sandybum · 20/01/2017 22:18

Yeah, because caring about the environment and the world we are leaving for our kids is really tragic OP.

Maybe you will get your wish and she we all will have more to worry about soon, with the Trump administration's view on that topic.

Grin

Squiff85 · 20/01/2017 22:23

I am being unreasonable clearly! I just thought throw it away, keep it simple!

EduCated · 20/01/2017 22:24

Oh the irony Grin

This.

cushioncovers · 20/01/2017 22:25

But throw it where op?

harderandharder2breathe · 20/01/2017 22:28

You're more tragic for starting a thread about an innocuous if slightly dull fb post

Dinnerout1 · 20/01/2017 22:28

Squirt the contents in to a bag to put in the bigger black bag that is for the bin men then rinse the bottles out and put in recycle boxes. X

You could always use it up as body lotion.

Squiff85 · 20/01/2017 22:40

The bin!
