Didsbury / Chorlton areas Manchester...

I would love to move from our tiny weeny home in the South East to somewhere around Didsbury / Chorlton Manchester. They seem exciting and famity friendly areas and we could have lots more space. My dh is not sold because........ of the accents! Anyone who lives there can you actually tell me what the accent is like. I've argued it's not as strong as the typical Mancunian accent (which I don't mind anyway) but maybe I'm wrong and its the same. He hates the Mancunian accent. It's only that accent and nothing to do with a Northern accent. He does have a reason, it's not a general just hating it, but anyway..... anyone? Thanks!
