AIBU?

Has anyone ever been spotted on AIBU?

I know that people have been spotted in mumsnet, but what I'm wondering is, has anyone posted on AIBU and had a response that read a bit similarly to "that was me, and how I see it, such and such...."

I keep reading threads and wondering if the other party is on here!

If this has ever happened I'd love to hear what happened!

There was one recently where someone recognised themselves/their child but I didn't see the outcome of it. It was something to do with star of the week and a name in a book but I can't remember the details

misshelena · 18/01/2017 00:04

one recently complaining about a friend not appreciative of bday gift of glitter poop pills and someone said that she is that friend! I am not sure I totally believed it.

sonyaya · 18/01/2017 00:16

frauleinsally

Awkward!! Did you mention it to the person in real life?

frauleinsallybowles · 18/01/2017 00:20

no it was someone i would never see again in real life iykwim it was a chance encounter we had and she started a thread about it.... she got quite nasty and in the end it got pulled.

AVirginLitTheCandle · 18/01/2017 00:25

Yes except I wasn't the OP; I was the person jumping in to say "this is my side of the story..."

AlpacaLypse · 18/01/2017 00:30

About five years ago there was an AIBU about a shared kid's birthday party where another poster appeared late on who was apparently the other mum. It seemed fairly believable. mahoosive spat about who was going to pay for what.

Foffyouwanker · 18/01/2017 06:46

Yes I've spotted my sister several times under different user names, usually confirmed by her a month or two later

Bluntness100 · 18/01/2017 06:50

There was a very funny one recently were a woman asked if she was rude in the way she treated another woman who banged her car when opening her car door at the supermarket. Someone posted she was the woman who banged her car, complete with frizzy hair. 😂

Sparklingbrook · 18/01/2017 07:13

There was a thread about mummy bloggers where a few got mentioned. One of them signed up to MN to post on the thread about how mean it was. But it had got a bit personal. Thread got pulled.

Hyperhypermum · 18/01/2017 07:37

Not MN but I once wrote on another parenting forum about some mums in a group I was in. One of them read it and confronted me. Turned out she'd been stalking me for months. I never met up with them again. However, the replies I got confirmed that they were utter cocks. I heard ages after that the group had imploded by which time I'd made new friends so a blessing in disguise!

frauleinsallybowles · 18/01/2017 07:38

bluntness100 that was the one that was about me i was the one with the frizzy hair and she kept asking me to confirm if it was sainsburys carpark or not.

HerBluebiro · 18/01/2017 07:39

I've been recognised. And I've recognised a friend. But not by the other party in an aibu

PopGoesTheFuckingWeasel · 18/01/2017 08:39

I'd get recognized anyway. I'm "out" on here as one of my other threads linked to a newspaper article about me. I'd have to nc to post anything secret...and sod's law I'd forget!

MuseumGardens · 18/01/2017 10:31

There was one where a child was in a class assembly and the poster was annoyed that one child in the class was given a certificate or something for doing well in the assembly. The poster thought it wasn't fair on the others who had also done well to single one child out for a reward. Everyone agreed with her but then i think the mum of the winning child turned up and said it was just her son's turn to get star of the week that week. That was all it was and they all get a turn at some point. It was something along those lines anyway.

hungryhippo90 · 18/01/2017 11:02

I was sure that it must have happened a few times!
There are so many AIBUs, which are quite specific!

Fraulein!!! What happened? And what did your frizzy hair have to do with it?! Sorry that it got particularly nasty!

Hypermum- sounds awful!!

Virgin! Do tell!!?!

I'm just waiting for one to appear about me! I do act in such an odd manner sometimes!

frauleinsallybowles · 18/01/2017 11:37

she had put on saying i had bumped her car with my car door in a superamarket carpark she then went on to call my a frizzy haired freak because i waved at her when she was driving away there was a lot more to it aswell as saying that i hadnt pm her when i had i really dont know what caused her to abuse me the way she did

hungryhippo90 · 18/01/2017 15:18

Fraulein!
Eep. Sounds quite nasty. Bit of an over reaction in her part too. Sorry about that! Must have been quite hurtful. Flowers

I remember the car park bump one.no honestly wasn't sure if the OP was sock puppeting. I guess not.

Definitely an odd OP that wouldn't answer legitimate questions.

SpringBail · 18/01/2017 15:54

There was one recently about a neighbour throwing a ball at her cat as the cat kept pooing in neighbours garden and a poster came on thinking it may have been her and the OP was going to go round and have a word but the poster who thought it was her never received a visit and OP said no one was in.
