Girl's night out. There is a good number of us going. I book it with my husband and I'm quite excited to go out. I don't get out for a drink so often.
The day of going out everyone starts cancelling. There are 3 of us left now. AIBU to be annoyed by it? Why the hell do you say you're going if you're not going to make it??? It was planned weeks ago. Husbands are out all the time. To make mums to go out is a mission. Why don't they just make a point of not putting their husband's social life first for once?

Also, it's nearly the end of term so depending on the age of the girls it's probably just too much for them.

Perhaps a weekend afternoon would be better for girls than a school night evening? Probably more choice of things they can do, too.

Argh I have this problem too. On The boys nights out no-one ever cancels. I've actually given up trying to arrange any girls night out now because every time I do most people drop out and it gets on my tits

Yes it's annoying but I'm not sure there's a lot you can do about it. People are just flakey. At least if there are still 3 of you up for it at gone 7.30, there's a good chance it'll still happen. Have fun!

Totally know what you mean OP. A friend organised a night out and at least 5 people dropped out on the day. I've two mum's nights out coming up and I can guarantee a good number will cancel. I just don't get why.

I'm not UK born so that is rude but as I see here it's perfectly acceptable.

Illness probably accounts for some, and childcare may have fallen through for someone. But that sort of last minute problem aside, if I'd agreed to go, I would go, at least for a bit. I might not stay till the small hours if I was very tired or had an early start next day, but worrying about letting others down would probably be my overriding driver to get me there, even if I wasn't really in the mood.
