DP currently beside himself because 7 week old DS has a small pink mark on his eyebrow caused by...

A gently warmed mince pie (in foil) dropped on his head, as DP tried to feed it to me while I was BFing.

DS obviously played his part beautifully with a petted lip and a wail at daddy.

Am I rotten to be teasing DP that DS is now going to grow up with both a wonky eyebrow and a pathological fear of Christmas baked treats??? Grin

DS1 has a scar in the shape of a perfect circle under one eye from where I was pulling his trousers up when he was a toddler. I pulled them up too hard and he jackknifed straight onto a piece of duplo. Blush

Newly mobile dd reached over and grabbed a lukewarm cup of tea!! Still warm enough to leave a mark and took her to A&E but luckily no lasting damage and now I can't even remember what hand it was poor girl bad mam

I popped the skin of my daughters neck in a popper when trying to dress her while she was attached to my breast. I felt guilty for a long time and can still hear the sound she made....
No scar though.

DH has fainted while carrying dd1 down the stairs, but luckily bounced over her as he fell. She had a massive bruise.

He also let ds out of his buggy when putting the shopping away turned his back and ds climbed back in and jumped landing face first on concrete.

DH and my mum were both watching dd1 when she escaped and proceeded to suck a cloth full of mop bucket cleaning water containing Zoflora.

I fell asleep breastfeeding dd1 and she rolled out of my arms onto a wooden floor as a baby.

Managed to gouge a lump out of my dd's head with my fingernail just before she turned one. I was devastated and promptly cut off my long nails and still keep them short now, years later!
I can never forget it either as in all the photos from her first birthday she has a massive scab right smack bang in the middle of her forehead!

DD1 fell off our bed by standing up using the bed guard - the day after dh had told me to watch her for that exact reason

DD2 has had her skin pinched in the car seat buckle twice that I can remember, possibly more times that I just ignored her howling Blush

These are brilliant! I'm reading them out to DP who's playing a sort of "higher or lower" of children's accidents ... I.e "that's worse than the mince pie... That's not as bad...." Etc etc

Bless him

I still haven't told him that I almost choked DS with the infacol dropper this morning, when DS thrust/lunged forward as I was dropper-Ing. Think sword swallowing for babies Blush

I caught DDs leg in a clip -the type you have on the vibrating chairs that you squeeze the side to open. I have also bent her little finger back whilst putting a jumper on her! Worst Mumma ever

* by brilliant I mean brilliantly reassuring, in that all your kids were presumably, fine

I dropped my phone on 2 week old DD's head. DP ran in, asking why she was crying. I said I didn't know Blush

I had changed DS (7months at the time) on the floor and popped him up on the bed beside me to tidy up. Next thing I knew he was on the floor in front of me! He squealed, I squealed and my aunt came running. Funny thing was she had only just asked the day before if he'd rolled off bed yet (like it was inevitable!) !

Showing dd (then 3) how to use a hole punch I managed to press it onto her hand. In my panic to pull it off the mechanism was pushing down further. Only my quick thinking dad stopped me and worked out how to pull it off. Didn't manage a complete hole Shock

I slammed my DD'S fingers when she was a toddler in the hinge of the back door and then just for good measure I did it again even harder as I thought the door was caught.
Trip to A&E but all was fine. Nothing broken.
Had nightmares for a few days. Me not her!

I have twins. When they were small, DH took DD out of the twin pushchair and put her in the car and then folded up the pushchair with DS STILL INSIDE. I watched him do it and literally couldn't get the words out to stop him. It was ok though. He was just a little creased.

We were at a funeral. Dh was looking after DS (6 months old). Somehow DS fell and ended up with a large egg shaped bruise on his forehead.

Many, many times have I wrestled with a stuck coat zip which suddenly frees itself and I end up smacking a surprised DC in the chin/face.

When DS1 was about 7mo he fell off our bed and we ended up having to go to A&E because his nose bled shortly after. That night, having learned my lesson, I told DH to watch him while I ran the bath. DS1 was on our bed. As I got up, DH belly flopped onto the bed "to make the baby laugh" except the resulting mattress bounce catapulted the poor baby straight off the bed and onto the floor.

Then there was the time I got a phone call from school to say that DS had had the runs and could I collect him. I went up and DS seemed chirpy enough, hyper all afternoon, ate a full dinner and so on. When DH and I put our heads together we realised that the day before, DS had managed to eat almost an entire bag of apricots. I'd been baking with them and he'd asked for one, which I gave him. Then he'd asked DH for one and DH had given him it and repeat. Plus the dessert itself. I'd also had some sugar free mints and he'd had one of those then, unknown to me, helped himself to the rest of the packet one at a time. For breakfast he had fruit and yoghurt but the only yoghurt I'd had in the fridge was prune flavoured Activia with the digestive additive stuff in it. Basically what we did was inadvertently fill our son with laxatives, gave very him a shake, and then sent him to school Blush

Ds1 was 3 months old and crying very loud for his milk, dad was warming some milk and panicking as ds1 was getting quite upset, he ran over with the bottle and went to pass it to me but in his hurry had forgot to put the lid on at all and basically just flung all the lukewarm milk straight in ds1s face. The shock certainly stopped the crying

I punched DD in the face while trying to catch her as she fell from a great height. I think I did less damage than the ground would have.
