For more than their actual worth.
Someone on a Facebook selling site is seeking 4 of these notes for £100. They are worth £20. It's really starting to grate on me.
Disclaimer. I am drunk and totally overreacting

It's ridiculous isn't it. A couple of weeks ago someone sold an upside down £5 for thousands!! Fools and their money are soon parted!!

Rollonbedtime7pm Sat 12-Nov-16 21:39:30

Cos some douchebags will buy them! grin

Helloitsme87 Sat 12-Nov-16 21:40:57

gringringrin but honestly. These people actually think they are worth something. It is FIVE pounds. No more, no less. Just use the bloody things and be done.

Helloitsme87 Sat 12-Nov-16 21:41:49

Pink! Hahaha I saw this and found it hilarious upside down notes are clearly a goldmine

Lalalalalaa Sat 12-Nov-16 22:24:01

Because idiots will actually pay more for them! My dh sold one for £25. Madness

CaptainMarvelDanvers Sat 12-Nov-16 22:30:22

I think the original ones being sold were due to serial numbers or maybe down to money laundering perhaps?

The ones now are trying to capitalise on that with their regular notes.

DisgraceToTheYChromosome Sat 12-Nov-16 22:31:38

The ones with AK47 and AK74 are worth a mint to wannabe ganstas.

LineyReborn Sat 12-Nov-16 22:33:51

An AK47 only got £10 on eBay last week. Seems hardly worth the bother.

tabulahrasa Sat 12-Nov-16 22:35:31

"These people actually think they are worth something. It is FIVE pounds."

Well to be fair, cash is an imaginary system anyway, the notes themselves aren't worth anything, we all just pretend they have a fixed value...

purplepebbles Sat 12-Nov-16 22:41:30

That was very Moist of you, tabulahrasa

DonaldStott Sat 12-Nov-16 22:52:24

AK47 grin followed by a myriad of inconsequential numbers. Someone trying to sell it on fb. Wanker. I was pleased to see the replies basically saying, mate, don't be a knob grin

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface Sat 12-Nov-16 22:55:45

People are still selling them.

I gave two to a mate a few weeks back (owed her a tenner) and kept apologising because they didn't look like real money.

TroysMammy Sat 12-Nov-16 22:56:33

Someone on FB was asking how much their fiver was worth because the serial number started AK45. I and others soon put them straight. Idiots.

On a similar note people on Ebay were selling £2 coins for £1. I kid you not.

pennyfromtheblock Sat 12-Nov-16 22:56:52

I sold a 50p for £48 last month.

Sparlklesilverglitter Sat 12-Nov-16 22:57:26

I don't get it either but if someone is daft enough to pay a shit load of money for a £5 note then why not

TaterTots Sat 12-Nov-16 22:57:49

If people are stupid enough to buy them, let others sell them.

RumbleMum Sat 12-Nov-16 22:58:06

I'm also drunk and now completely bemused.

I kind of get the AK47 ones but there are loads on eBay with apparently inconsequential serial crumblers for about £300. Are these being sold by chancers, or am I missing something?

RumbleMum Sat 12-Nov-16 22:59:09

Ah hem. Serial numbers. I'd have a lot more time for serial crumblers, especially if blackberry and apple was involved.

SpeckledyBanana Sat 12-Nov-16 22:59:25

I have a Peter Rabbit 50p piece. It is very cute and DH insists it's worth more than it's face value. It's not, is it?

Queenofthecats Sat 12-Nov-16 23:25:02

SpeckledyBanana he's right, it is worth more than 50p! I had one and the women in the pound shop wouldn't take it as she said I could get money for to.

DP sold it for £75...

Shinyshoes2 Sat 12-Nov-16 23:33:16

Ohhhh I have 2 peter rabbit 50p's

Ldnmum2015 Sun 13-Nov-16 00:08:36

Lol and what about postage on ebay, is that another fiver on top? I too am always baffled by it all

TaterTots Sun 13-Nov-16 02:22:42

If you don't want one, don't buy one.

RebootYourEngine Sun 13-Nov-16 05:01:00

It is silly isnt it. I read that someone on ebay forgot to put a reserve on their £5 note and it sold for less than that grin
