Am I being unreasonable to never wash my hair again. Does anyone else not wash their hair?

3 days would be my absolute limit. How would you keep it clean?

I used to sit in a seminar room at university with someone who didn't. 25 years later I can still remember the grim smell precisely.

I totally understand your sentiment but unfortunately, it needs washing.

What sunny said.

Doesn't it eventually begin to clean itself?

How the hell would it clean itself? Have you ever caught a whiff of a dog? Or any pet? Even cats reek.

You would stink

I don't know how I would keep it clean. In the sun I read a guy from blur didn't wash his hair for 10 years. Further down the article a woman washed her hair every 10 days with egg and vinegar. They do say don't wash your hair you are stripping it and weakening it.

Don't know what cats you're smelling

Report
Laiste · 07/11/2016 20:12

I was going to say that leanback.

Someone here must have tried it? I'm sure i've read about people using only water on their hair and it being ok.

I don't imagine 'self cleaning clean' would be the same as shampoo'd clean though would it? Or maybe it would?

I love burying my nose into my cats fur and having a good sniff.

What's it doing to make you want to not wash it? Apparently there are people who not washing works for. I think you have to keep it dry though, always. Avoiding rain, snow, swimming, faffiness in the shower has got to be hard work.

There are other options, well, probably. Depending on what it's doing.

I do that! There is a Facebook page which helps. In the last eight months, I have looked after my hair with egg, gelatine, porridge oats, aloe Vera, argan oil, coconut oil, flax seeds... No shampoo, no conditioner.
It looks fine, and I have used no plastic bottles.

Cats smell fishy Grin. Plus they lick themselves. How would a human achieve this? Plus we naturally smell fucking awful. Trust me, my parents were hippies...

I used to sit next to a girl at school who had a braid right down to her knees.

It was never washed and utterly revolting. I can still smell it to this day.

My DS1 didnt have his hair washed for nearly 9 months when he was a toddler... It did after a few weeks settle down and didnt look too grim but as soon as it got a bit wet it smelled again

If you said you were going to wash it but not use shampoo then maybe but even then I': imagine it would get very lank.
To not wash your hair full stop, I would imagine it would look awful after a short time. Also hair does start to smell, even environmental smells cling to hair.
Each to their own and all but it certainly wouldn't be for me.

pklm, I'm sure it looks OK, but honestly, my folks did that kind of thing and it did not smell OK...

It's going to smell tank and look rank.

Just shave your head and have done with it.

Oh thank God, pink! Granted, I love snuggling a nice cat, but they do smell.
