To ask for a doll house for Christmas for myself

Ok so partner asks me what I want for Christmas
I have everything the only thing I want is a doll house, but the playmobil one
Looking online adult collectors of playmobil is a massive thing

I love reminiscing over childhood things, I know it's a bit silly but I would love to collect all the people and bits
I haven't asked yet, is it too silly to ask for?
I already collect cuddly toys and used to collect Lego sets as an adult, is this any different?
Probably going to get flamed for being a weirdo but hey ho
(And I've got no kids I can buy it for)

I get really bad episodes of depression, I don't know why but toys seem to really help me, I get absorbed in researching all the sets and things you can collect, really pulls me out of it

yanbu, I desperately want my old 80's Sunday house & stuff back and regularly look on eBay. I also have a hankering for a proper vintage dolls house too.

I did have a proper "adult" collectors doll house but I'm not very crafty and found decorating it too hard (put the wallpaper on upside down!) and didn't get very far with it,
The furniture and people just weren't that appealing to me so I ended up selling it on
Playmobil is so much easier to collect

Get it! Why not. I used to love Playmobile, can't wait to get it for my kids. I set up some sylvanian stuff for DD1 last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. I think there's something about being able to arrange to parts how you want that's very therapeutic.

Yanbu. I used to collect Playmobil, amd play with it, when I had depression. The act of playing is really helpful/important and there are lots of articles online about how it helps us to become 'unstuck'. When you have depression you become 'stuck'. I think it's probably similar to exercise or other stimulation in that you experience changes in your thinking - and it feels so good to have a break from your normal 'grownup' thoughts! Definitely therapeutic and Playmobil is brilliant anyway my kids have benefited from my huge collection!!

My husband only wants a "Nerf gun: the fucking huge one with a strap!".

He'll be 50 next year and I almost didn't judge him.

He also bought himself and our boys scooters a few weekends ago . All three of them cut their knees / hands.

Wriggler, looking at the playmobil Facebook page its full of adults commenting on their collections, and making photo scenes of playmobil is massive on Instagram, they are so artistic (doubt I could take such great photos!!)

I don't have one myself but I love proper old dolls houses. I'd love to get to play with queen Mary's famous one where apparently you can actually read the teeny tiny books and fire the little guns etc!
