To take our toddler to firework display...

My husband thinks she will be overwhelmed, but I think she will be ok. She's not easily frightened. If you have a toddler, what do you do for bonfire night?

Taken ours last two years, when she was 1 and 2. Got ear defenders for her. She loves it!

Taking DD 18 months to a toddler friendly firework display, its 6.30pm and focus is more on the lights with less of the loud ones. If this didn't exist in our area though I would just take her to the normal display.

How old?

I have a 1, 2 and 3 year old.

My oldest has very sensitive hearing and doesn't like it, but he copes.

The 2 year old likes it.

Not sure if our 1 year old likes it but he coped last year when he was a newborn.

Go and take it from there, if you all have the energy. Alternatively sparklers at home and indoor fireworks outside

We took 2yo DS to one and he absolutely loved it. We were sitting at a picnic table and he was dancing on the tabletop shouting "again again!" after each one. His face was a picture, lots of awed "wows!" from him. It was great Grin

Took my six month old and nine month old nephews to a large organised Diwali fireworks display. It was fine. Both of them loved it. Not sure I'd take them to a bonfire tho.

Out of interest ifeellikechickentonight if you don't mind saying where is the toddler one you're going to? Sounds perfect for my little ones!

I took my son tonight... He loved it. We watched some clips on you tube beforehand and prepared him for the bangs.
We went with a friend and their daughter (same age- 2) and she cried all the way through. You can't tell until you go yourself

Took dd last year when she was about 18 months. She was slightly wary at first but loved it. Reminded her with some clips online this year and then took her last night. She had a great time. We bought her ear defenders last year but she refused to wear them.

Depends on the child. My 5 year old still hates fireworks (even when we can just hear them from the house) and screamed when we tried to take her to a show a couple of years ago. My friend's 2 year old, however, loves dancing to the music and watching the colour and doesn't even seem to notice all the loud bangs!

Took my dd tonight, she went bananas, absolutely beside herself Sad I was really surprised as last year and the year before she adored it! She is almost 4.
