sorry if this has been done but was watching news this morning and trumpy was making a speech, only knew it was him as a heard his usual drivel. the potential president and possibly one of the most powerful people on the planet was wearing - a baseball cap, scruffy shirt, no tie and a scruffy jacket making a speech on tv to the american nation. i've seen street people have more respect for their appearance than him.dress isn't everything but....they really think he is a good idea ??
no wonder a famous ex bbc car presenter once said 'some americans have mated with vegetables' !

Never trust a fart.or a man whose surname is one.

Roughly 40% of the American population think he is a good idea, and roughly 40% (including me) think he is a nightmare.

And none of that has anything to do with how he is dressed.

I imagine he has dressed down today to put across some kind of 'man of the people' image, although if he was really interested in being a man of the people he would have brought his product lines back into the US for manufacture instead of leaving them in Asia and South America. He would also allow his managers to negotiate with the unions in his casinos and hotels instead of leaving thousands of employees with no contracts.

Even if he is a man of the people, it is the male part of the people he sympathizes with. And pretty, young, thin, women. If you are old, a bit fat, and somewhat of a frump Trump will treat you with absolute contempt.

What he wears is the last on my list of concerns about Donald Trump

BratFarrarsPony Thu 03-Nov-16 17:20:46

Of all the things to pick on?

I doubt Street sleepers make deliberate fashion statements.

He can dress up as BananaMan he's still a twat.

I really don't think repeating Clarkson's offensive comments are helpful.

America is a huge country with all sorts of different types of people. It's rather facile to lump them all together as thick Americans.

This presidential election is worrying, but not because of what Trump wears. Which I'm pretty sure his image and media people chose for good reason.

pipsqueak25 Thu 03-Nov-16 18:17:16

the point i was making is if he doesn't give a monkeys about how he looks, it is worrying that he really believes he can take on the big one. total nightmare in the waiting, if this is the best his team can manage then that speaks volumes.

MizzEmma Thu 03-Nov-16 18:23:25

No it doesn't speak volumes pip. His appearance will have been very carefully stage managed.

Lots of Trump's supports are blue collar workers. It will be a calculated effort for a billionaire to appear to be a man of the people.

It's not like he turned up inappropriately dressed for a TV debate.
