This will make you feel better.

DD lost her replica Draco Malfoy wand just after getting it at Christmas. Devastated. We found it under the sofa. This week.

We had looked everywhere!

Just got a new sofa for our kitchen/family room which has hard flooring. The previous sofa just had little feet and sat maybe about half an inch off the floor...but the new one has legs and is maybe 3 or 4 inches off the floor. I have to sweep under it every other day because the dog keeps sliding stuff under it!

I do under the sofas every week. You can see under them from the hallway

You're supposed to clean UNDER things?

Weekly hoovering under.

Cos it's where all the stolen (by various cats) socks live and if DS doesn't regularly suck them out from under, we'd all have cold feet.

Mopping happens monthly. Theoretically. Maybe. Not.

Well anyway, it says monthly on the housework plan, which should count for something.

yes ours are on hard floor and have a wee gap of about the same as you Fabellini... but I obviously don't sweep every other day......

thanks king thistle, let's cling to each other to feel normal as more and more people come and tell us how minging we are x

I do under the bit of the sofa I can get the vacuum under every week, but I only pull it out and do the whole area about once a year.

I sweep under the couch roughly every two days, 2 little DC's and 2 dog's that are heavy shedders means if I didn't it would be totally grim if left longer.

It's rare I do under the bed (dog's aren't allowed upstairs).

In the past I rarely hoovered under the sofa. Now we have a robot cleaner and it is low enough to clean underneath the sofa. Infact it seems to love under the sofa - spends ages under there.

Sadly our bed is too low for it to fit under - it gets stuck as just the wrong height. Looking at getting a new bed anyway an will bear this in bed when buying. So answer to that - very very rarely. Bedroom isn't big enough to move the bed - it would be a HUGE job!

There's too much crap under our bed to hoover under it and the kids beds are on the floor.

Sofas get hoovered under at Christmas when we move the furniture around to put the tree up. But again they're on the floor with about a cm gap between them and the carpet Grin

Oysterbabe · 15/10/2016 11:04

Not so far. Maybe if we have cause to move them?

Report
rainbowstardrops · 15/10/2016 11:07

I'm another one that only moves the furniture at Christmas when we move things around to fit the tree in! GrinBlush

I'll clean under the bed when we get a new one/decorate/move house. Whichever comes first!

When we move the furniture around or move house. Too much stuff under the bed to hoover anyway. Hoover under sofa as far as it will reach. Same goes for the tv unit/kids beds/cots.

I Hoover under the sofas every week because I can move them easily on my own and there are usually loads of biscuit wrappers behind there that the cat has stashed for reasons best known to her. I've never moved the bed to Hoover because it's too heavy and my bedroom isn't really big enough.

Hoover under the sofas whenever we hoover. Under the beds? Not since we moved in 2 years ago!

Report
curryandrice · 15/10/2016 11:13

Not enough - I find it really hard to move the very large 4 seater sofa in the sitting room that DC use. When the carpet cleaner came on Friday, he moved the sofa and an empty bottle of rum and 3/4 empty bottle of Vodka rolled out plus 2 prosecco corks (presumably left over from DS's recent and very lively "leaving for uni" party) - I can only imagine what he thought as I had previously mentioned that the house was too big as it was just me and the dogs living there

Crystal15 · 15/10/2016 11:21

Oh it can be months before I pull the sofa out!

Report
popcornpaws · 15/10/2016 11:26

Under the sofas about 3 times a week, the beds used to be weekly but have recently bought a new one that means all the furniture has to be moved as theres only a small gap under it so i can see it being once a month.

Hardly ever, my furniture is too heavy to move regularly. Once a year I will do a very good spring clean and get under things as best I can.

Robot vacuum does under the beds so about 2-3 times per week. I think the new one now fits under the sofa too, so I assume this gets done every night. But I may be wrong. The old one didn't fit and I cleaned under it very rarely!
